Jazz May Be A Part of 3-Team Deal w/ Clippers

The only reason I would approve this deal would be if it was the stepping stone for subsequent moves this summer (or even tonight). Adding Mo gives you the flexibility to move Harris - which would both lower team salary and not force Utah to take on any extra contract years - a huge plus in my book.

On the court - it would also give Utah the flexibility of playing 2 PG's in more effective stretches to match up with an opponents speed, and despite Harris' a career year shooting from behind the arc, Mo is definitely a better 3pt-shooter than Harris in halfcourt situations. I don't see any upgrade in terms of distributing the ball, and durability-wise neither Harris nor Mo is particularly an "iron man."

Simply adding Mo along with Harris to tagteam the PG position for 2012-13 gives Ty another toy to play with and more options in the backcourt, but overall makes little sense it in the grand scheme of things, and I would be surprised if Mo agrees with it seeing as how he could easily be a backup PG/SG for a more successful team in a bigger market. He'll be 30 at the start of the season and knows this is his last chance to secure a multi-year moderately handsome contract so I expect he'd prefer staying in LA over being PG 1B in Utah.
Spot on.

If Mo gets the looks Harris got this past year he will shoot above 40% from deep.

He is also an expiring contract that can be traded at the deadline. I know Utah isn't known for doing that, but it presents more options.

If this happpens, we better get that #17 or a future 1st from one of these teams...hell, trade them back that Nets 2nd if we have to but get a 1st...or I guess two or three future 2nds...screw that #60 this year.

Man I wish Raul Lopez could have stayed around longer, I liked his style.

I wish we'd have drafted Tony Parker instead. I was totally expecting Parker because Dave Blackwell said that was who the Jazz were looking at. Then we take Lopez. Ugg. Even if he'd never have been injured he was to weak to play in the NBA.

Mo Williams shoots the three better than Harris. I would rather have mo for that one reason.

Harris has not impressed me much in a Jazz uni.

They complained about the guy posting the Bleacher Report in the other thread, but the mods need to change the title of this thread, but it's now a done deal, and I think that is what confused the poster -- it did me. I saw the Bleacher Report too, and then wondered if it was mentioned in this thread, but it isn't, is it ???

It's funny to see people complain about us getting Williams. Taking on a good player for in return. Yes the Jazz have to pay him, but why do we care if they are willing? It's not effecting any FA signing we are trying to do this year.

It's NOT a done deal.

I would put money on it going through. Williams is going to take his time, but he will do it (unless the unlikely scenario of us drafting Lillard happens).

Unless someone with a TPE and draft swoops in offers that instead of our lone TPE.

At this point, if Mo Williams opts out its because he wants to wear a headband. I think this is a done deal. Mo isn't turning down 8+ million.

Good chance it will, but it's not official yet.
