Minnesota finalizing 2 year $20MM deal with AK - per Y!Woj

It's funny reading some stuff on nbadraft.net, all the Timberwolves fans on there said they wished they drafted Hayward instead of Johnson. While the rest of you guys are complaining saying we shoudl have tooken George.

I don't know why you guys are so down on the wolves. Kevin Love is the best pf in the game and Adelman is one of the best coaches in the league. Barring any major injuries, this team looks like it will be top 7 in the west.

Kevin Love is turning into a douche. Now he demands that the wolves start adding better players to the roster to win now or else he will leave. I guess that what happens when you hang around kobe and Lebron these days. Adelman can at least make the wolves relevant, but not top 7 relevant.

Back on topic, I think AK has a damn good agent. Good for him.

BTW did he get rid of his funny haircut? LOL

You only have one more post to waste until 666. Are you planning to make the most of it? PM me for some real cool ideas.

Good for AK. Look forward to seeing how Adelman uses him. I'm betting right now that they post him as a 3 more in the first month than we did in his last 3 years.

Also worth noting Minny played at the 4th highest pace. On the flip side, they were nearly dead last in fast break points. AK is a good fit on both those fronts. As long as he doesn't get hurt (huge IF), I think he's going to be one of the better stories next year.

So Wolves will have at least 7 white players? Isn't that the most white team ever?
Wolves will be certainly fun to watch. I would bet they will be in top 3 in NBA in assists next season. And they will make playoffs.

"Post him"? As in "post him up"? Given that Love loves the long ball, it's possible, but the only real benefit to posting up AK is that it reduces the temptation that he'll shoot outside. I don't recall that he was a particularly dominant 4 offensively, and Utah used him largely at the SF spot usually "posting him" there. (AK vs. Marvin will be interesting to see.)

AK was never posted as a 3 with us. He should have been. Not as a cornerstone of the offense, but the way Carlisle looks for spots to post Marion. He'll thrive posting 3's, and I expect Adelman to realize that.

Posting up AK would've required Fat Al or Bumbling Boozer to move out of the way. That wasn't gonna happen.

He would've likely liked to touch the ball a bit more often as a slasher, though.

Posting up AK would have required nothing more than the sensibility to post a 6'10" wing with exceptional passing skills against overmatched opponents. Coaches like Carlisle are creative and look for ways to put those wrinkles into offenses. Coaches like Sloan think deviating from an offense is a sacrilege.

Money > winning for Crylenko. Now its the Wolves turn to watch AK sit out with his bi-seasonal back spasms while making 10 mil/yr.

This is the same AK that donated his salary for CSKA to his charity, correct?

I guess that I forgot Russia was NBA basketball, oh wait, I didn't, it's not.

Not a good argument. Team Russia posted AK like Atlanta posted Joe Johnson. It wasn't about scoring in the post. They started with a mismatch in the post, ran cuts and screens off that mismatch, and then used the threat of scoring off that mismatch to find easy buckets.

Again, not the NBA. He is the same AK that sucked most of the time in Utah, just older.
