So no we have to watch injuries and Bell gets to take the spot of someone more deserving. Some one dying for their "big chance"? I bet that person cares and I care that Bell is still in a Jazz uni. That limp noodle.
I never wanted Raja back but he is under contract so I don't understand why he should give up money. Isn't that the purpose of having a contract. I think it is called business.
Happens all the time. Teams buy out contracts and a ton of them used the amnesty clause. It's KOC and Greggy Boy holding to the company line that no one ever gets free money from them. I think everyone overestimated Raja's value. Even IF a team wants him, they're likely to only pay the absolute minimum (what is that, about $1.5M?). I believe Raja's contract this season is $3.5M. Unless/until a team actually puts a guaranteed offer in front of Raja, I don't blame him for rejecting a buyout for any amount less than full price. And I say that as a Raja-hater.well in theory, yes... but he's the one saying he wants to be out of his contract and go somewhere else. or at least he's the first party to start saying so publicly. you can't go tell the media "i think it's obvious the relationship isn't working, i want out" and then hide behind the notion of "i've earned this guaranteed money."
I can't wait for the jeers the next time Raja plays in Utah. I'm usually a respectful guy of ex Jazz players, but screw Raja.
Break him. Make him come back run two a days or whatever. Fine him for being out of shape. Make him sit in a suit behind the bench. Never let him near the court. Have the cameras focus in on him at awkward times. Send Steve Brown to ask him questions like " what is it like to be a proud veteran sitting here watching these young guys make mistakes?" In all press releases spell his name Roger. Send him to Lake Point, American Fork and Syracuse to hand out tickets and meet the common man fans, let the people have a chance to talk with him. Move his locker to the far end of the room next to a noisy air vent, instead of a name plat scratch something on duct tape. Post that subway commercial on you-tube, send the link to Kobe. Tell the parking lot attendant to leave his car in the snow, not to scrape the windshield and never warm it up. Fine him whenever he is late to practise or team meetings. When he asks for a sit down with KOC, schedule it for 5:30 Am the morning after a long road trip, or at 1:45 in the middle of three off days. Have the road manager lose his hotel key a couple times. Hey has anybody seen Roger's suitcase? Have the front desk give him a courtesy wake up call at 5 am. At the trade deadline give Toronto a 2nd round pick and cash to take him. Raja will love having to get a visa and pay all those taxes. Fine him if he doesn't report.

How would amnesty have hurt Bell? I thought the advantages of amnesty were that his salary wouldn't count against the cap and that if another team signed him that would reduce the amount we have to pay him.
KOC what a super GM this is the second year in a row he can't fix the Raja problem!!!!!
I love you.
You've only seen my mind wait until you see my body

Raja to KOC: "I know you can either amnesty me or buy me out. If you don't mind, do you think you could buy me out so that I can choose a contender to player for?"
KOC to Raja: "Whatever gets you off my roster"
Raja to contenders: "I'd love to help you compete for a title, whataya say?"
Contenders to Raja: "We're considered "contenders" for a reason. No thanks"
Raja to KOC: "Apparently I suck worse than I thought... Now pay me bi***"
