Thoughts on Shabazz vs McLemore?

Ooh, great question.

I've always been concerned about 'Bazz and his willingness to really be a team guy .. or his ability to play true team ball.

Having said that, gun to my head .. I take 'Bazz. Tough choice though.

Really? I just dont love McLemore when I watch him, I think he is getting by on being a superior athlete which will be a lot tougher in the NBA. He is a solid spot up shooter but his handle and shot creating are lacking. I like Bazz for his NBA ready skill set and body, although I also think he will probably be a me first guy in the NBA.

I'd probably take Shabazz. I think he's clearly better at creating his own shot and has more of the attitude necessary to carry a team on his back. But I haven't seen McLemore play much, to be honest.

Its forgivable to call for the ball like that, the play might have even been for him, but not joining in the celebration is indeed full of douchery.

Shabazz still looks like a slightly more versatile Joe Johnson to me. I think he'll be a good pro, but I think he's barely top 5 or 6 in a stronger draft.

Holy **** I'll pass on this douche. Great, I like that he wants the ball. But you can tell already this is a guy who won't "get it." IMO.

Warning: Patting self on back .. again.

I have warned against this for a year now. Immense talent that's been told he's the man for years and he's not a team guy. He may get there, but he's never been that to this point.

You're the man. Seriously, I say that without my usual sarcasm. I can't stand guys who act like this. It speaks volumes. And imo, a guy like this will never, ever win in the league. The only way I'd draft him is if it could mean we could parlay him into something more.

Okay, so which PG would you want on the Jazz (as currently constituted) if we are down three against the Bulls, like we were tonight?

I'd want one who can a) get to the rim, b) pull up and hit from 3pt range, c) cross-over and pull-up from mid-range, and d) make sharp passes within our offense (assuming we actually do have one).

The toughest one. Ice water in their veins and won't be denied.
Tough answer.. I'd still say Burke.

I don't trust MCW to make shots or to get all the way to the rim. I think he's a bit physically awkward--he doesn't have a low center of gravity and he's not really explosive. He's got adequate speed, but not great quickness. I think he'd draw a second defender, but I'm not entirely sure about his passing in that situation.

I do trust Trey Burke's to make a shot if he can get space for himself. I trust him to make a good pass, but I think he's too small to get all the way to the rim. I like his quickness. I trust him to set up a shooter a bit more than I trust him to be the primary shooter. But the defense would have to respect his scoring.

I'm still trying to get a read on Marcus Smart. A bully PG like him has to be able to pull up and shoot well.

That probably describes Burke.

That must be a fantasy draft, cause a more versatile Joe Johnson is a pretty damn good player.
