If Jefferson and Millsap both log 38 MPG, that would leave 20 MPG for some combination of Okur, Elson, Fesenko, and maybe AK, between PF & C. Or we could go small...
If Memo is out for any length of time, it could be scary. As competitive as the wild wild west has been, we would have a tough time even making the playoffs.
Low 30 minutes--say, 33--for each of Millsap and Jefferson is optimal. That leaves (48-33)*2 = 15*2 = 30 minutes for the rest if the PF/C players. Fesenko should get 10-15 of those--more if he produces, maybe less if he doesn't. Just like he should have gotten all along.Memo being out means a bigger role for AK and Fesenko in the big men rotation, which can be a good thing for us.
Not sure if Millsap is able to play 38mpg. He tends to be in foul trouble a lot and my guess is he will be playing at around 32 minutes a night.
I am pretty confident that we are going to make the playoffs. I just hope we can have more length to compete with the Lakers. Replacing Boozer with Jefferson is a start and getting a healthy Okur back for playoffs will be good.
I imagine we will see virtually the same exact sort of 3 man rotation that we've had the past 3 years, but with Millsap seeing more minutes and Memo less.
I imagine Big Al will play exclusively at the 5 while Memo is out. If he gets 34 minutes per, there are only 14 minutes left for Fes + Elson. AK would then get the backup minutes at the 4.OK, at 33 MPG for Millsap and Jefferson, if Okur is out, that leaves 30 minutes for the Fes/Elson show. That's over half the ballgame with one or the other on the court. Seems like a bit much.
Hopefully we would be smart enough to NOT try and play them TOGETHER.
If AK gets maybe 10-15 MPG at PF, that would really help the situation.

Something like this might work. I'm doubtful the Jazz will have Hayward learning 2 positions this year, and I've heard mention they see him as a SG anyway.I imagine Big Al will play exclusively at the 5 while Memo is out. If he gets 34 minutes per, there are only 14 minutes left for Fes + Elson. AK would then get the backup minutes at the 4.
The Jazz are going to lose games they shouldn't if they're playing Price 15 MPG behind Deron.
Until Memo comes back, the rotation will be pretty close to this
Williams 36/some **** player 12
Bell 28/Miles 20
AK 16/Hayward 22/Miles 10
Millsap 32/AK 16
Jefferson 36/Elson or Fes 12
Um, Okur isn't really a starting C, not when you have Jefferson.I think it goes like:
With Okur:
5 Okur (28), Jefferson (8), Fess/Elson (12)
4 Jefferson (24), Millsap (24)
3 AK (28), Miles (15), whatever (5)
2 Bell (24), Miles (12), Hayward (12)
1 D. Will (36), TBD (12)
Without Okur:
5 Fess (18), Jefferson (12), Elson (18)
4 Jefferson (22), Millsap (26)
3 AK (26), Miles (17), whatever (5)
2 Bell (24), Miles (12), Hayward (12)
1 D. Will (36), TBD (12)
You have to remember, Millsap isn't really a starting PF, not when you have Jefferson.
Seriously? Boozer is erased by the Lakers and Millsap is simply too short to come out as a net positive. If anything, a starting 4/5 of Jefferson and Okur might only make sense against the Lakers as Jefferson is going to get torched playing 4 against a lot of teams (and Odom will kill Jefferson just as bad as Boozer or worse if they end up matched against each other).
However, I am looking forward to seeing Bosh just get steam-rolled by Jefferson when he gets stuck guarding him in the post for one possession before The Heat have to hide him on D.
I've said all along that for the purity of basketball (all emotion aside), the best line up is;
Deron
Raja
AK
Okur
Jefferson
I won't rehash all the reasons why, but anyone that truly knows how basketball is played will 'get it.'
