What's new

Derrick Favors being on the bench didn't lose us this game, our starting 1-3 did.

Kanter and Millsap both got it done in the 4th, doing a competent job preventing guard penetration, and scoring both at decent rates in the 4th quarter/OT.

Jennings and Monte (and then JJ) got hot, and they kept hitting big shots whenever they needed them. Millsap on the other hand was air balling threes and missing FTs. Tip off your hat to them. At the same time, we NEED Mo back in the worst of ways. Earl and Foye simply killed us tonight. Would have been nice to have Mo in transition tonight.

So Favors didn't lose the game. Did he help them win?

Whether it was Favors rotting on the bench or the the starting 1-3, it's still Corbin's fault.

You're missing the point, OP.

Please expound.

Favors's replacements in Millsap (and especially Kanter) were getting it done on both ends of the court. Completely stand by Tys decision to stick with them in crunch-time.

If we had put in Favors and he committed a couple of travels/offensive fouls (keep in mind he scored 23 points on ~20FG attempts) it would have killed momentum.

Again, our frontcourt didn't lose us this game. I think freaking out at Corbin for sticking for something that was working excellently is rather pathetic.

My $0.02

I'd put the blame more on Foye, for not hitting the broad side of a barn.

Also, we cannot expect Burks to play a 24 minute half. We saw what happened with Hayward on his third game back, when he played for 20some minutes straight.

I thought Ty didn't do awfully with his rotation in any sense today. Stuck with what worked, got Hayward and Burks enough rest for the 4th quarter runs. Again, this game was lost on amazing shots from all 3 guards of the Bucks. Monta was 3 off his season high, Jennings was unconscious. JJ buried us in OT

It was Corbins fault. Favors should have been in 4th q with Kanter, but Corbin doesnt have the cojones to bench a veteran

I actually agree with the OP here, our frontcourt played quite well down the stretch and was not part of the problem. Obviously, Favors should be on the floor for some of the time in the fourth, but it didn't cost us the game.

Marvin should just be cut. He's hopeless at this point. The fact that Foye and Earl are still starting when Earl should be the 14th guy off the bench and Foye should be playing 15 minutes max is ridiculous. THIS is what cost us this game as well as many others throughout the season.

I'm hoping we don't bring back Millsap or Al, sign a guy like Landry to a 3 year deal at 5-6 per, and spend some money on decent players in the backcourt because right now we are atrocious.

There were several points in the 4th where Watson was WIDE open at the free-throw line with no-one within 5 feet, and he would still back out the ball behind the three-point line and reset.

How we have a winning record behind the backs of Tinsley and Watson starts is beyond me. Throw in poor-shooting from Foye, and we will get killed by every team with a talented backcourt.

liar watson did not play in the 4th

Corbin piloted the game into a situation where those FTs were necessary. Yes they should have been made, but no the game should never have even been close to that point

So are you saying favors was not getting it done on both ends of the court?
