Here's the latest at 6am mst from only the most reliable news sources (CNN and msnbc):

The one suspect arrested and who was ordered to strip: wrong place at the wrong time: no connection to the bombers. Yikes

Suspect 1 shot and killed in a firefight with police. Suspect 2 is on the loose last seen driving a Mercedes SUV (maybe).

I guess it all started when these 2 became engaged with an MIT on campus police officer. Killed him. I think They were robbing a 7-11. They maybe took the officer's cruiser. Then hijacked a SUV. Which led to a police chase and fire fight. One died. Explosives were thrown from the SUV but I don't think any of them went off. One died with a bomb strapped to his chest. Soooooo I wonder if this is turning into more of a jihad? The other escaped? Dunno how. And I dunno if he's still in the SUV or is on foot or what.

Hopefully the other one is captured alive.

They are brothers.

The second suspect — the one in the white hat in photos released by the FBI — was on the loose. Gov. Deval Patrick ordered the entire city of Boston and some suburbs to stay inside during what he called a “massive manhunt,” and police began a house-to-house search. Boston shut down its buses and subway system.
The suspects are brothers of Chechen origin with the last name Tsarnaev, law enforcement officials told NBC News. The suspect at large, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, is 19, was born in Kyrgyzstan and has a Massachusetts driver’s license, they said. The dead suspect was identified as Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, born in Russia.
Tamerlan Tsarnaev was run over by a vehicle during the firefight, law enforcement officials told NBC News. Law enforcement officials also told NBC News that the brothers entered the United States with family in 2002 or 2003, and that Tamerlan Tsarnaev became a legal permanent resident in 2007.

Harvard University, Boston University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Boston public schools all closed. Emerson University closed and told students to stay where they were.
Andrew Kitzenberg, who lives in Watertown, said he saw the two men shooting at six police cars from 70 or 80 yards away.
“There was a long exchange of gunfire,” told NBC News in an interview. He said that he saw the suspects use what looked like a pressure-cooker bomb.
“I saw them light this bomb. They threw it towards the officers,” he said. “It created a significant decoy, and there was smoke that covered our entire street.”

The dead puke with the black hat was apparently a Golden Gloves Boxer and competed in the Olympic Trials. He was interviewed a couple of years back:

Tamerlan, who studies at Bunker Hill Community College in Boston and wants to become an engineer, took the semester off from school to train for the competition.

Tamerlan fled Chechnya with his family because of the conflict in the early 90s, and lived for years in Kazakhstan before getting to the United States as a refugee.

Originally from Chechnya, but living in the United States since five years, Tamerlan says: "I don't have a single American friend, I don't understand them."

If he wins enough fights... Tamerlan says he could be selected for the US Olympic team and be naturalized American. Unless his native Chechnya becomes independent, Tamerlan says he would rather compete for the United States than for Russia.

Tamerlan says he doesn't drink or smoke anymore: "God said no alcohol." A muslim, he says: "There are no values anymore," and worries that "people can't control themselves."

In light of what this piece of **** did I really don't know what to make of this - I really don't.

He lives in the U.S. from age 5 yet has zero American friends and just doesn't understand Americans. Well, I'd have to say the parents ****ed him up pretty good.

I would guess the kids were put up to this by the father. Just my guess with nothing to base it on.

Lets call it what is. The man was pissed because he was a loser in high school and still wasn't getting any tail even in college. Instead of blaming his own childhood and upbringing or his pathetic communication skills, he blamed Americans and American society. We are the weird ones. If only we weren't so weird he would be getting lots of fine tail and not just those big cool football players!

I think you're pretty close to the truth here - more phycological than ideological. Especially considering he's a failed boxer and chose a major sporting event.

and yet apparently the younger brother, the one who's still alive somewhere, was a "sweet guy" and well-liked

...One former schoolmate of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev at Cambridge Rindge and Latin School in Massachusetts described him as “very sweet,” adding, “I never heard anyone say a bad word about him.” Another, Meron Woldemariam, 17, the manager of the school volleyball team that Mr. Tsarnaev had played for, said that he had left the team in the middle of the season to wrestle. She described him as normal — sociable, friendly and fun to talk to....

So they were born in Russia and fled to Kazakhstan?

I thought Kazakhstan and the US and A were friends?
