2. He is small. But not that small. And this is not that big a deal.
Burke measured 5-foot-11 and 3/4 inches tall at the pre-draft combine. But that just measures him to the top of his head, and how often does a player use the top of his head?
Burke has big hands and is deceptively long. He has a longer reach than Lehigh guard C.J. McCollum, even though McCollum is 2-1/2 inches taller. Some teams may like Syracuse guard Michael Carter-Williams better than Burke because Carter-Williams has "an NBA body," but they need to look more closely. Carter is, indeed, five inches taller than Burke. But his wingspan is only 1-3/4 inches longer.

Honestly, I don't want to read much into it but you can't work on your Minnesota speech as any moderately educated person can't expect he will stay in Minnesota and likely will be traded. This along with his "Looking forward to play in Utah with Kyle Korver" slip then corrected in twitter by "I meant Gordon Heyward" means he's got no clue what's going on at all.
He definitely will have chip on his shoulder after slipping that much but he doesn't come across like too bright.

I had to get out of bed just to neg rep you.

Well, to his defense, IIRC, he didn't work out for Utah. And at #14, I doubt the Jazz were even on his radar. He sounded better in a later interview saying he heard Salt lake was a great city, had talked to Ty and that Tinsley had tweeted him. That's right, our UFA Jamaal Tinsley. Sounds like the Jazz will definitely be bringing Tinsley back as their 3rd PG and mentor to Trey.

Philly did fine. They got Noel and a 2014 first-round pick from NOLA of some kind.

Their backcourt took a beating though giving up J'rue Holliday.

They could only offer #11 and a 2nd-rounder to Minny, so it probably wouldn't have beat our offer.

And only top-3 protected. NO really reached on this one. Even if they were to draft 4-7 or so, they'd end up with a potential franchise player. That's a lot to give up for a wing.

Yeah, when they initially announced that deal they had the 14' 1st rounder going back to NOLA along with Holliday and everyone on here was like "WTF? WTF?" Now that they got that sorted out, it isn't some unbelievable deal for NOLA.

Agreed. They are going to really be hating life if they end up losing out on a franchise player because of this deal.

I love how the Jazz played this draft. They trade #21 to move up to #9, then get #26 to make up for it. They trade #46 and cash to get #26, but then they turn around and get #47 for a future 2nd-round pick.

The Jazz did their homework and danced circles around other teams. They got Trey Burke for #14 + a future 2nd round pick and some cash.

I just watched the Trey Burke interview on NBA TV with Craig Sager and his interview sounded just fine, again his first interview with the Twolves hat he had no clue there was a trade in the works and he even mentioned it in this interview. Oh on a unrelated note his suit looked good with the Jazz hat.

Zbone can be down on this all he wants and he could be right but he is not right about the interview or about hoping Horny could coach him up on shooting... not sure how or why he missed the news about him being the Suns HC.

He also measures less than an inch in both the "real" height gauges compared to Deron Williams.

Burke: 6'5.5" wingspan, 8'1.5" standing reach
Deron: 6'6.25" wingspan, 8'2" standing reach

Burke may not be perfect, but he is the best PG in the draft as of now, and he was the right guy to take at 9: BPA, position of need, safe pick.

Jalen Rose predicted that Burke would be the rookie of the year due to the pick and roll and immediate need for a point in UT. Saw it on sports center tonight.

The trainer in this video is wearing a Utah Jazz shirt and Burke is decked out in 'Jazzish' colors... premonition?!?
