62. Trying to build off their once-in-a-decade playoff appearance, the Warriors go ALL IN, flirting with FA Dwight Howard (as IF they ever had a chance) and then setting their sights on Andre Iguadala, who had a falling out with the Denver Nuggets. To clear space for a S&T for "Iggy," the Warriors were forced to offload their sizeable expiring contracts to Jefferson and Biedrins in one deal with Utah, and then negotiate a second 3-way trade with Utah and Denver, netting the Jazz two UNPROTECTED first round picks and three second round picks. AS a result of the trade, Carl Landry and Jarrett Jack, two key components of their 2012 playoff run were let go in free agency. With a decimated bench, the Warriors were not able to withstand injuries to Andre Bogut and Steven Curry, two players whose chronic ankle problems caused them to miss significant games in 2013, resulting in the Warriors missing the playoffs in a strong Western Conference. The Jazz, who finished with the 4th worst record, were able to convince the Phoenix Suns to trade the 2nd pick for the 4th and 12th. Surprisingly, Danny Ainge selected fellow Mormon Jabari Parker with the top pick for Boston, leaving Andrew Wiggins for Utah. On a weak Boston team, Parker has the better stats and wins ROY. Wiggins has the last laugh, however. Led by two Olympians, Derrick Favors and Gordon Hayward, who barely lost the MVP vote to the new Laker, LeBron James, the Jazz defeat the Brooklyn Nets 4-2 to win the title. Deron Williams is inconsolable after the loss and can be heard screaming at Jason Kidd in the locker room.
