it would suprise me, tbh.
duke players historically dont win much in the nba (only duke players to win an NBA championship in the coach K era is, Danny Ferry as a benchwarmer on the 02 spurs, and now ****stain shane battier 2x)
and even more important than that, duke players just dont live up to their draft pick, yet these duke players continue to get more press for "doing it the right way"
Shelden williams was the 6th pick.
Mike Dunleavy was picked 3rd.
Jay Williams was picked 2nd.
Corey Magette was picked 13th.
Trajan Langdon was picked 11th.
Elton Brand went 1st overall.
i can go on and on but im kinda busy,
theres been a few legit duke players, but they to me dont seem like the typical "duke" players
mainly Luol Deng, and Kyrie Irving... both of these players are the clear outperformers, i think not only will Jabari get the classic "coached by coach k" bump in stock, cemented by the slobbering of dickie v' and his love for duke, and the nonstop buzzing that will go on in national media... id assume the duke hype machine will be play the "best freshman ever at duke card" to inflate his value... not that his value isnt great all by himself, wait til the hypenitis sets in
expect comparisons to durant
Damn you dug a few pages deep for that quote.
Haven't been on in a couple days. I like to read everything so I know what the stupid people are saying.
1) what the hell is the #2 pick in the draft doing ripping around on a motorcycle, let alone one he couldent handle? sounds like somthing youd hear about a draft pick like DeJuan Wagner or Amare Stoudemire, not a coach k disciple..
2) luol deng is not a typical duke recruit his older bother (or brothers, i forget) were already established pros overseas... deng was compared to magic johnson before he played a game at duke, also he didnt go 1 and done, probably because he had nothing to worry about.
not sure if this is true but my buddy knows lots of crazy stories like this... apparently at duke luol deng used to get so many girls he had a sign up sheet outside his door....
my point with Kyrie (who comes from a rich family) and Deng is they arent the classic, stay for the education and the experience dookies, they were there to display their skills for the nba, i think Parker is doing the same
and 3) i compare Parker to paul pierce, i think his shot is hard to block not because of an athletic advantage like Dirk or Durant but that hes just excellent in small space... i do fully expect the national media to compare him to durant though
Then why did you read what I wrote?
Andrew Harrison & Aaron Harrison VS Jabari Parker & Gary Harris
Which pair would you guys rather have???
GO!!!
Great question.. Parker and Harris. I see Harris and AaHarrison ALMOST a wash and I would take Parker before Andrew.

Yeah I'm leaning towards that pair myself, Jabari is clearly #2 in the draft and Andrew is probably #4.
Having said that, if we get the #4 pick, then the Andrew and Aaron pairing is a great consolation prize.
Andrew Harrison
Aaron Harrison

I'm really not a huge Gary Harris fan (as a pro prospect).
Yes he plays with good fundamentals, has a great shot, but his size is a major limiting factor. Don't get me wrong, I love Parker, but I would strongly consider the Harrison twins over Parker and Harris.
thats a fallacy of predetermined outcome, classic monday morning quarterbacking.
why are you defending the status quo?
theres 1,000's of people sitting in prisons worldwide blamed for things they didnt do. the municipalities involved shouldent be blamed for that either? blame espn?
I liked it better when you were gone.
Nobody needs to read your idiocy.
