What kind of message is Jazz management trying to send?

You do not let everyone of your free agents walk. No team does that. It shows a total lack of caring and a risk of being the worst team ever which even you tanking fans cannot be rooting for because the recovery process will take forever especially for a small maket team like the Jazz. Another thing is I don't understand everyone's interest in the draft and summer league. You need vets are your team in order to win which should be the Jazz main focus next offseason.

Dude its a master plan to try to have a shot at a title.

Most of us are ok with it and a lot of us vehemently support it

Why don't you put some effort into finding a decent screen name? That's all you have to say for a senior member?..what a joke!

Yea. Because being an average team with no upside is much preferable to having a future and finding out what you have going forward. Lets pay Al, Millsap and Mo then let Favors, Hayward and Kanter leave because we can't afford them because we kept the below average vets we had.

The message it sends is that the Jazz are willing to take a small step back this year to build their core and hopefully take a huge step towards building a championship team.

They're not going to overpay veterans who hold back the youngsters and mire this team in mediocrity. If you think that Jefferson, Millsap, Foye, Williams and Watson will get you anything better than a mediocre team. . . I'd like to offer the past two seasons as evidence otherwise.

The message being sent is that the young guys will get a chance to develop into the reliable veterans. The rookies can come in and jump start the bench. You have to let them grow.

I'm rooting way more this season then the last 3. I do agree you need vets to win titles, but it has to be the right vets and the guys we had were not the right vets. Go jazz!

The message is.
.
Okay young guys you wanted this shot, the fans wanted you to have this shot, and now we trust you to carry this team as far as you can. If you show us what you have we'll get the pieces to try for a title. If you fall on your asses we will try and find the guys that can get us to a title with the mass amounts of money we saved by letting all of the crappy vets go that could not even get to the playoffs despite their huge salaries and wishes to remain starters. And we'll use the draft picks we acquired to help accomplish either of those 2 things

Well put, repped

The message is simply- the team is headed in a new direction with youth as the emphasis, the vet FAs did not fit into the organisations plans.
The youth will have their chance to prove themselves and on the way provide us a shot at a nice draft pick next year among other assets...

So please tell us, bkralj, which of the free agents you would have brought back, your reasons for doing so and how much money you would have offered. Please also elaborate on how this would fit in with the plan to start the young core and give them more minutes.

Guys, relax. Kermit has revealed himself and the fact that this forum has major pull with management.

It will be interesting to see how Portland does this year since we seem to be on a similar trajectory. We'll strengthen our bench next summer just like they did this summer.

They certainly chose the wrong draft to tank for though. They'll be fighting for an 8th seed this year, which is where I expect the Jazz to be next year.

8th seed da best!

Perhaps. But Utah may not have much room for FA's. I actually predict Lindsey will take on $15M-$20M of junk expirings for one more season in exchange for more assets. With the current core5 + a lottery pick + perhaps GS' pick (if we don't combine it with our own to move up) + Neto? + Gobert + perhaps an early 2nd rounder (maybe draft and stash?)...that's already 8-10 rotation players on the roster. Maybe a stretch-4 and a veteran #3 PG in free agency. Other than that, Jazz will be pretty set on having a fantastic group of youngsters to continue to develop and evaluate. Free agents only if one or more of the youngsters doesn't show sufficient potential.

If i was mikhail prokhorov-like rich

fire tyrone corbin or i'll buy the UTAH JAZZ.

in reality

hello fire corbin thanks
