What's new

What kind of message is Jazz management trying to send?

Didn't Miami let go of all it's free Agents a few years back....

What message was that.....

Not1...not2.....not3..... Yada yada yada!!!!

This thread has moved past, mostly, the initial troll.

Yes, it has. Agree with your last post and that of green. I'm more excited than I have ever been since Deron first arrived. Granted, we don't know the ultimate ceilings of our current C5. But we do know we have LOTTERY prospects at each position and another one likely to come to us next season. And if we're in playoff position instead of the lottery at the deadline? That just means those 5 are truly special - and I then trust DL will go out and grab a quality FA or two to give the Jazz a real shot in the playoffs.

You have to figure we're going to TANK hard or be marginal the next few years somthing .... if we kept our most of our FA we'd probably come up with about the same results minus a few wins that would screw up our draft pick number/pos ... this way we develop our young tallent/core group and can seriously say were tring to do more then just be average ... were going for A championship! ... lets face it without a few superstars the refs alone will keep us out of the finals ... to much green to be lost lol

Even WITH a high pick it might still be a challenge to make the playoffs next year. The WC has gotten tough! I see a couple of years of teams needing 48-50 wins to just make the playoffs (like '07-08). OKC, SA, Denver, LA Clippers and Memphis all won at least 56 games last season. Houston likely joins that group this year. GS should be at least as good (47 wins). I have Portland replacing LA in the playoffs this season, but next summer you have to figure the Lakers will make some FA acquisitions. NOLA is a fringe playoff team as is Minnesota. Jazz could easily find themselves winning 25 games this year, improving to 45 next season, but still missing the playoffs and getting another lottery pick.

I think the message is simple. They're telling us that we're going young, athletic, and exciting. They're going to try and see what they have on the roster next year. Where we end up in the lottery will be result of how the youth play, not tanking. This way at least we know what we have, and if we need to make any changes on the current team trade wise.

As far as making the playoffs next year. It may take this year for the youth to develop, and all of next year for (hopefully) two good draft picks in the 2014 draft to develop. Then it could be a 10 year run of making the playoffs starting in 2015.
Also, the 2014 season would be one where we would push for a playoff spot and maybe just miss it. That would be a different feeling than what we're going to have this year. Not to mention another lottery pick in the 2015 draft.

Sometimes you just don't know what you're gonna get with this talk to text thing

You do not let everyone of your free agents walk. No team does that. It shows a total lack of caring and a risk of being the worst team ever which even you tanking fans cannot be rooting for because the recovery process will take forever especially for a small maket team like the Jazz. Another thing is I don't understand everyone's interest in the draft and summer league. You need vets are your team in order to win which should be the Jazz main focus next offseason.

in the spirit of honesty, I don't think you quite get it. If the Jazz had kept Sap, Mo, and Big Al, we would never be a contending team. Had we traded them, we would have gotten back players that would still not get us to contention, not to mention they would have likely had bad contracts. This was the best direction to go if you ever want to win, Kanter and Favors need minutes and the FO needs to evaluate the young guys. and, if we lose alot, The 2014 draft is looking like the best draft in 11 years. Trust me, this was the best direction to go if you want the Jazz to one day contend, but if you want them to be the bucks, and compete for the 8th spot every year and get ousted in the 1st round, than you would be right on the money.

gregbroncs has been on Jazzfanz for quite some time. You've been trolling for a lot less. Go read/listen to a few interviews with Lindsey, KOC or even Randy Rigby. Then come back and tell us what message management is sending Jazz fans.

No what's interesting is you just bash people on here and you know absolutely nothing about the Jazz.
LOL. This coming from the guy that has no clue what the Jazz are doing.
.
I read these forums most days. And can see what the Jazz are doing. You can't even seem to read your own thread and get the answers you need. Since this is the 3rd time you have started a thread like this and still haven't got a clue as to what really happens in the NBA. Or how teams build contenders.
.
How about you actually read this thread and learn just how far off you are. I think you may be the only Jazz fan on this site that can't see the light for the *** in your way.
