Obama Government Shutdown?

Locally, reps. Matheson and Chaffetz have said that they will not accept their paychecks and will donate them to charity or something.

Anarchist Mike Lee however, has stated that he will continue to accept his checks.

I love how if someone shares even one view different than a "dem" or a "repub" they are instantly lumped in with the rest and not given the consideration of a retarded llama. He's just a repub, his opinion doesn't matter. It is amazing he doesn't drool on himself all day.

Frankly rev I didn't think you were that much of a hard-core party-liner. Guess I was wrong.
Hey, I resemble that remark. And I'll have you know that I only drool on myself part of the day. Jerk.

Anyone who thinks this is a Dem/Rep problem, you're kidding yourselves. This is all on the R's. Check out what this dude has to say. Hits it on the head.

Why are you being divisive and vitriolic? The other side did it too back in 1963. I don't trust either of them. Throw em all out. Term limits. Campaign finance reform. You're a party line talking point. Make them subject to the same laws as the rest of us.

Green, Stoked, did I get all the deflections in there?

October 1, 2013 - American Voters Reject GOP Shutdown Strategy 3-1, Quinnipiac University National Poll Finds; Dems Up 9 Points In 2014 Congressional Races
PDF format

American voters oppose 72 - 22 percent Congress shutting down the federal government to block implementation of the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare, according to a Quinnipiac University national poll released today.

Voters also oppose 64 - 27 percent blocking an increase in the nation's debt ceiling as a way to stop Obamacare, the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University poll finds.

American voters are divided on Obamacare, with 45 percent in favor and 47 percent opposed, but they are opposed 58 - 34 percent to Congress cutting off funding for the health care law to stop its implementation.

Republicans support the federal government shutdown by a narrow 49 - 44 percent margin, but opposition is 90 - 6 percent among Democrats and 74 - 19 percent among independent voters.

President Barack Obama gets a negative 45 - 49 percent overall job approval rating, compared to his 46 - 48 percent score August 2.

American voters disapprove 74 - 17 percent of the job Republicans in Congress are doing, their lowest score ever, and disapprove 60 - 32 percent of the job Democrats are doing.

Even the republicans are divided down the line against the Tea Party Temper Tantrum. Time to cut the fanatics out of the discussion before they gift wrap democratic control of the house, senate and presidency.

This has long been your boat ride Captain. I am just along for the ride.

The fanatics huh? Wasn't Obama rated as the most liberal senator?

Come on now. You just look silly.

Yes and no. I see them all as fanatics in the sense that they are not there for us, they are there for themselves. Remove the Tea Party repubs and the establishment ones and clean house on the left while you are at it. If we are going to clean house than lets clean house.

I say if fish and stoked can work together and make things better, we should just put Obamacare on the table and do radical surgery. . . restore the choice Obama promised and intensively nuke the rule-making committees that have re-written the whole damn thing to bring us to the single-payer choice en masse.

Tell me who this describes:

--religious fundamentals
--clinging to ways of the past
--believe because they don't get their way that the govt. has gone rogue
--see conspiracy and corruption everywhere
--government has betrayed their way of life and must be fought to restore a religious-based moral code
--worried that they must force their world view onto society or face end of the world
--unable to win through democratic process
--willing to take extreme measures to force their religious ways onto society through hostile government, rather than democratic, control

well, I of all people know how to construct fantastic takes on reality, but seriously. . . . do you really think people are any different any other way you want to slice and dice them demographically?

we're all victims of our ignorance. Islamic fundamentalists and Teabaggers are no different from government employees worried about the next paycheck, except the fact is those paychecks will be cut, and cashed. Break out some beans and rice, bro. You're not going broke, personally. Not yet.

Establishment folks, together with everyone who believes continuity is the only way of life they can cope with, have gone insane over this "Shutdown" rhetoric and lost all contact with reason.

Teabaggers and the Islamists have lived in the outer darkness of powerlessness for decades, and that is why they are all batcrap crazy. Now it's your turn.
