Following potential 2014 draftees

Actually pretty astute. Randle demands so much attention yet is such a good teammate that he does more damage than the boxscore ever shows.

Having said that, I am no longer a believer in a "top 3 heavy" draft... I place Randle in the tier below Wiggins and Parker.

Wiggins & Jabari have always been 1A and 1B, TBH... there never was a 1C.

The blocked shots is impressive to me. I want active defenders who can challenge shots. This is why the Tankers pick is so critical. If it ends up in the lottery, they can grab a player like that and see how he develops off the bench to go with the star wing player that they hopefully land in the top two picks.

Rudy Gobert says hi. I like WCS as a prospect though.

Wiggins in his own group, then Parker in his own group, then Randle in his own group, then Exum in his own group, then Embiid in his own group, then Smart in his own group.

So many groups. Do you have thirty groups in the first round?

Tier 1 - Wiggins and Parker
Tier 2 - Randle, Exum, Smart and Embiid.
Tier 3 - everyone else. . .

Anything but a top two pick is a letdown. Anything outside of top 6 is sad in this draft. Good players, but missing out on elite #1 overall type guys.

Our own draft position is making our fans sell the depth of this draft short. There's some REALLY good potential through about #40.

Having said that, I understand and agree.

I like Parker and wiggins at number 1, randle in his own second tier, and then exum and embiid. Followed by Gordon and smart. Those are the top three groups to me.

I agree with a slight difference. I don't think there is as big as gap between the tiers like in other drafts. The gap gets closer when a team considers their needs. My draft strategy is to take the best player available but there are cases that the difference is so small that I consider what a team needs.

Unless the Jazz move one of the bigs I see more of a need at SG/SF and for that reason I probably would take Exum over Randle.

I covet Embiid with the GS pick (yea I know I am dreaming that a miracle will happen) but I would be happy with WCS with the 10-12th pick. Again it also depends on if another shooter is available.

Assuming Embiid progresses nicely throughout this season, could anyone see him going 3rd in his draft? If drafting purely on potential, Wiggins would be number one and I think Embiid would be two.

You are one of the posters I respect most and I am perplexed by this one.

All Catchall is saying is that he thinks Randle and Parker are equal. At least that is how I interpreted it. BTW, I respect both of your opinions.

Can I just say that I fell into a depression when WCS didn't enter the 2013 draft. He would have been available right where the Jazz were picking.
