Burks is our best scorer for sure. He can eat bad defenses alive, and has his games against even the top defenses.

For all the hate Corbin gets, don't we kind of have to applaud him for his development of Burks? I know he doesn't get as many minutes as he should, but Corbin has reinforced a lot of good characteristics into Burks.

What development? He's playing exactly as he always had. Instead of olaying 5 mins he's playing 25-30.

I'd much rather give burks the max over andrei Hayward.

3 game win streak... Yay?

Oh, and Burke sucks. Flat out sucks. 10 games without getting to the FT line? What an embarrassment. That's not a habit that will win us any championship, ever. Sorry.

Rookie wall. That's why most coaches don't like starting and giving rookies a ton of minutes their first season.

Not really understanding Corbin's logic w/ Alec this game. He has played pretty great. Haven't seen any huge defensive mistakes.

Could he be tanking? Showcasing Jefferson?

**** really don't make sense from a getting wins perspective.

Alec had a turnover right before being taken out.
I think that is why he was removed

I really think it was for rest. That is the problem with being a 6th man who finishes games. If you finish the game, you will have played around 18 straight minutes. Not really great to end a game strong, so a short rest makes sense.

its pretty insane, hes at 1.7 fta / game. thats so little, especially considering how good of a ft shooter he is. wasting it.

Burks was able to attack the rim his rookie year though.... he should have played over raja bell at least right?

Rany foye > burks? Come on.

Also check his sophmore year college numbers... 22 pts, 6.5 rebounds and 3 assists per game.

Dude had game from day one like i been sayin all along.

He just finally getting an oppotunity

Shooting 37%/34%. Go the FA route to fill out the roster. Don't need to keep money in reserve to re-sign Trey or Gordon. Wonder if Hayward regrets not signing a contract. He wanted somewhat less than George? How about 50% less.

Burks has made the last 10 points I believe. He has 25 points on 10 shots (60% fg) 13/14 free throws. In 22mins. There are no reasons why he shouldn't be getting 33-36 minutes consistently.

Also as far as the 10 shots and 60% is concerned..... one of those attempts was from about 70 feet at the buzzer

and in less minutes alec is getting to the line 3 times as often. he may be the only guy on our team with an '''elite''' skill.

Lol. Right. The rookie wall is forcing Trey to never drive, never even attempt to draw contact, and to only shoot jumpers.

Well part of the rookie wall is fatigue. You go from playing 30-somthing college games that are well spaced out to 82 games that are bunched together. He will have to adjust his game in the off-season. He is still young, he will learn. Given his past history I don't doubt he will adjust.

You can think think that but most games this year alec has started and finished the 4th without a rest.

And he didnt play a whole lot of minutes tonight either.... and he is 22 years old in great shape.

I dont think it was coincidence that he was yanked right after a bad turnover

So you think Burks could have been doing this from day 1?

2nd game of a back-to-back. Jazz had a lead so he probably felt comfortable giving him a slight rest. Lead quickly dwindled and he put Burks back in. I really think he was just buying Burks a breather so he could finish strong, which he did. It clearly worked.

I would call it a good coaching move.

I think he has improved aspects of his game for sure like most players do during the years between 19-22 years old.

I also think his rookie year he was better than raja bell, cj miles and josh howard and he was better than foye last year.

I think has been able to get to the rim and free throw line at an elite level since day one.

He has improved his passing, ball handling, defense, and outside shooting.

He was actually a better rebounder his rookie year than he is now from what i remember

Philly doesnt come back.... burks doesnt either.

Again, i might agree with you if burks wasnt yanked immediately after a turnover..... as in burks turns it over and instantly i see corbin get frustrated on the sideline and signal for a sub

alec burks 2nd game in the nba:

15 pts, 67% shooting, in 9 mins

Also from day one i always heard things from practice about how no one on the jazz could stay in front of him..... then in summer league each year he would dominate...... then each year in pre season he would play really well...... then the season would start and he would get dnp's in favor of below average players
