Imagine that we had the 3rd pick in the draft and Parker and Wiggins were off the board. Who would you take between Embiid and Exum?

This could be Sam Bowie Michael Jordan all over again.

Disclaimer: The last line was said not because I am committed to the idea, but because it's something to talk about and is certainly a possibility. Personally, I think Embiid will be Hakeem-light, if he can stay healthy. Embiid will be to Hakeem as Trey Burke will be to Chris Paul when Trey is in his prime.

As far as Exum goes, I'm Sold. I think he's big time. One day Steven A. Smith will be saying that Dante Exum is the thunder from down under and "A Bad Man in his own right. Not as bad as Aaron Rogers but a bad man nonetheless." Just imagine Steven A. Saying that and you got it.

Hard call but I would gamble on Exum since we already have Favors and Kanter inside. We are lacking a quality guard that can play both the 1 and 2, has good size, distributes, can create his own shot, can play outside and inside, and can rebound and Exum looks like he fits that role well.

No freaking way Exum should be taken over Embiid. Unproven, poor shooter, average athlete pg ( We do have Burke right?) at best over true 7 footer with elite defensive and post up skills? Only concern about Embiid I have is his back now, otherwise it is slam dunk decision here. Unless his back is really effed up badly Embiid will be top 2 pick , mark my words.

Burks already fits that role way better than Exum.

I don't think these days a FO would miss the extent of the problems bowie had. Sullinger was drafted 21st because of a herniated disc. He was a steal. So far I haven't heard what the issue with Embiid is. Until an actual problem is confirmed it would be silly to assume the worst.

Eh I don't know that this is really debatable right now. As we find out more about Embiid's back, we will know whether or not he should go #2, or more like #6. I would say if healthy Embiid over Parker is likely.

Jazz already have Favors, Kanter and Gobert. They will need help on the wing next year.

None of them has shown to be an answer in the paint. Both Favors and Kanter are ranked in bottom at their opponents production. It is Memo and Boozer red carpet laying defense all over again.

And how is Exum a help at the wing? He is PG who needs ball in his hands to make plays.

I'm not sold on Exum but you would play him at SG. Which would work because Trey is an excellent spot up shooter.

There is a chance that Embiid ends up like Oden. You don't take that risk with the #3 pick. I honestly believe that Randle is the second/third best player in this draft, I go BPA.

I think if the Jazz think that Aaron Gordon can eventually shoot you have to take him. His talent is just crazy. Plus he doesn't turn 19 til September.

He is pretty bad from 3 and to slow to defend SG in NBA. He is big slow playmaker kind of like Vasquez in NBA. You don't waste top 3-4 pick on that.

Haha now I know you are a dumbass.

Exum has elite level quickness. His first step is his biggest weapon. The kid is crazy fast.

Embiid is much more polished offensively than Oden. And stress fracture of one vertebra which does not require surgery is nowhere near as dangerous as knee problems Oden had. Yes the risk is there but is not as bad.

wtf you are talking about, all video's I have seen him playing he is slow as hell.

Exum's perimeter shooting is horrible. If you can't get a good shooter, draft Embiid and move Favors/Kanter.

Think this might be the first time I've ever agreed with AK666, but you have to consider the rodent that started this stupid thread!

No need to move either one of them they can both play the 4. That 3 man rotation sounds pretty sweet to me.
