Free Agent Rumors Thread

Ding, ding, ding! We have a winner. Thomas now becomes a tradable asset for the Suns....or he makes it possible for them to trade other assets.

Meanwhile in Jazzland.....nothing is happening. They haven't even announced a trade since yesterday.

Imagine that...they might actually have 14-15 guys they really like and will use summer league and training camp to narrow down their choices. Might even look at other rosters for free agents (like they did with Clark) instead of signing some crappy vet. Wasn't that what we were complaining about last year and the year before? Having washed up vets on the roster instead of young players with upside?

I wonder.. Is Sacramento going to play Ray McCallum a ton? that'd be crazy, he was damn good last year.

LOL @ Sactown...

They'd already drafted a SG last year... If they knew Thomas wasn't the PG of the future they should have traded back and grab Elfrid Payton who's looking like the steal of the draft so far, and Payne.

Payton
McLemore
Gay
Payne
Cousins

That's a legit up and coming & solid team going forward.

They signed Darren Collison by the way if anybody forgot. Not sure why they drafted Stauskas when they already have McLemore.

Umm we had Burke, Burks, and match rights for Hayward and we took Exum. They took who they thought was the BPA. Stauskus was a good pick. I guess they could have fallen for the Vonmeh smokescreen y'all fell for.

I think the Jazz sees Exum as our long term SG... Burke is a PG and Burks is our 6th man. Totally different situation.

Collison at the 1, Stauskas at the 2 and McLemore as the 6th man. Or vice versa with Stauskas/McLemore.

McLemore can't score/create well enough for himself/others to be the 6th man, tbh.

I just think Payton has much more upside than Stauskus going forward plus they could have picked up Payne in the process.

So you're saying that we have minutes for Burke and Exum but they don't have enough minutes for Mclemore and Stauskus?

Newsflash Burks > Mclemore

He can't score create well enough... Doesn't defend... Not a great spot up shooter... Why does he have more upside?

I wouldn't give up on him... Also wouldn't bank on him. Stauskas will be really good... Much better prospect IMO.

I will agree that the kings have no idea what they are doing. Haven't had a clear direction in years.

Who are you talking about here? Payton? Have you seen him play?

Elfrid Payton is a candidate to win ROY, honestly. Carter-Williams esque type of player.

Yup. I think he's a cross between Patrick Beverly (defensive intensity) and MCW (passing, finish at the rim).

And Sactown should have known this, tbh. They've had him in for workouts, etc.
