Where do ute fans see their first loss coming from? Think you have a good shot against wazzu and honesty would not be surprised if you took down ucla in Pasadena.
I agree. Sadly I believe that 90% of years byu and utah are middle if the road pac 12 quality. (Think washington, Arizona, oregon state)Agree 100% with everything you say. For me, it's just silly the audacity of a BYU fan to hold up a "We want Bama" sign 4 weeks into the year. The 2004 Utah team was amazing, but due to their schedule, they did not deserve to bump out an undefeated USC or Oklahoma. Any Ute fan who thinks otherwise is a Moran.
Same thing with BYU this year. You've got a nice team and one of your better QB's in recent history, but there's nothing they can do this year to justify any sort of "We want Bama" talk.
Good post. I agree with all points.I agree. Sadly I believe that 90% of years byu and utah are middle if the road pac 12 quality. (Think washington, Arizona, oregon state)
Once in a while each program had a special year and gets up to a top level pac 12 team (Stanford, ucla, usc)
Also once in a while each program will have a down year and be a bottom level type team (Colorado)
Imo byu and utah for the most part are what we thought they are...... an average power 5 program.
This year's byu team MIGHT be a little better than average (maybe a 3rd or 4th place pac 12 team with a chance at top two) but I dont believe they are a top 10 team or anything even if they go undefeated.
Also, utah might be a little underrated this year. They have looked really good in every game so far..... I'm interested to see how thier season goes.
Utah would wipe the floor with BYU. It wouldn't be close.
There's no way BYU is top 3 or 4 in the PAC-12 this year. Your WR's aren't good enough and Hill isn't good enough to get the ball to them and your defense has issues. This might be the worst defense Bronco has had. BYU would give up 30 a night this year in the PAC-12 and there is no way they score 30 every week.
BS
Byu's wide receivers are actually very good..... your right about hill not getting the ball to them enough though.
The defense is a lot better than they have looked the last two games imo.... especially when kafusi comes back. (Should be next back next game)
They don't have a down team talent wise. This team is loaded with talent. And very deep.Kaufusi is a big hole. But that's the problem. As Utah has found out, you have to be 2-3 deep everywhere. Kaufusi misses time and his backup is almost as good? You're screwed. If BYU was in the PAC-12 and Hill went down...yikes.
BYU picked a good year to have a down team talent wise. Their toughest game might be Cal.

The backup qb is quite good as well..... a much better passer.
In the fall scrimmages I saw, he was utilizing those huge, talented receivers very nicely. Lots of deep balls. Dude had a very strong arm.
Kinda excited for if taysom gets hurt to see what the backup qb can do tbh.
Thank god byu doesnt have that ute backup qb
Will do.Also, I want to pimp MSU LB Benardrick McKinney. The dude is going to be a top 10 pick as an underclassmen (hope he love MSU to stay for his senior year doe). 250 LB line back who runs a 4.5/4.6 40. Can stop any RB dead in their tracks. If any of y'all watch MSU in the future, keep an eye on #50.

Funny how you and green talk about the utes being in a whole different class than byu.I'm quite comfortable with Kendall Thompson. He's played well in each game, and right after the pick 6 against Michigan, he led Utah on am extremely long drive before half that restored some offensive momentum. And unlike BYU's backup, we're starting to see him take enough snaps that's he's not a complete unknown.
Also, Utah would mop the floor with BYU this year. Their overall team speed is currently the best it's ever been and as we've seen recently: even when Utah's slow, they still are quite a bit faster than BYU. Plus, Utah's D can play man press coverage on BYU, while committing 8 in the box for Taysom. Not only is that the blueprint necessary to beat BYU, it also happens to be Utah's bread and butter. Utah's special teams is also on a whole other level this year, and we 'be seen many recent games between these two come down to special teams.
As unlikely as it is, I am PRAYING Utah faces them in a bowl game. Believe it or not, most years I've felt like BYU has matched up well with Utah and I'd ready myself for a possible defeat. This year that wouldn't be the case. I think Utah be able to at least slow down Taysom and cruise to a relatively easy win.

It's like you think the utes are the #1 team in country and byu is idaho state.
Makes ute fans sound pretty stupid really.
Oh well, keep up the good work
I do wonder why the national media doesn't see things the way you and green do.
Its all good though the utes have no one but themselves to blame for not playing byu this year.
