If "Ifs" and "Buts" were candy and nuts we'd all have a merry Christmas.... Your last few posts have been completely silly.
You're silly!
Merry Christmas, lil brother!

I wonder if Bronco Mendenhall would want the OC position. Only thing that makes me nervous is that he doesn't have P5 experience.
Gary Crowton is at SUU. He would be pretty easy to poach. What do the Runnin Utes on this board think of that option?
UndefeatedWhat was Mendenhall's in-conference record this year?
Thriller is really pissed that the Utes are good and BYU sucks eh?

In the time since, three assistant coaches have left the program, and sources familiar with the situation tell The Salt Lake Tribune that the relationship between Utah head coach Kyle Whittingham and athletic director Chris Hill is severely fractured, perhaps irreparably.
Those sources, who requested anonymity so as not to not compromise their ties to the program, say Whittingham and Hill were on poor terms before the start of the season and that the rift widened in recent weeks. The two were scheduled to meet Friday, a source said.
Emails obtained through Utah’s open-records law show that Whittingham had suggested "a significant increase" in Sitake’s pay. Hill then offered what he considered a sizable raise, a figure that was redacted in the Dec. 5 email but amounted to an increase of $100,000 above his $500,000 salary over a two-year deal, according to a source.
"If this does not meet your expectations as a significant raise, please let me know," Hill wrote to Whittingham. "We do not want to lose Kalani to another defensive coordinator position so please let me know in that case if it involves money and/or other issues."
A source close to the athletic department said late Friday that Hill eventually made Sitake a final offer of three years at $750,000, with bonuses and incentives that could take the deal to $800,000.
A source said Hill’s inability to lock up Sitake made Whittingham feel that Hill was trying to sabotage his program.
Christensen also was offered a two-year deal, and Tuiaki and other assistants were offered one-year deals by the U., which redacted the amount of the offers because negotiations were ongoing at the time of the records request.
A person I trust 100% says Whitt is deep in discussions with BYU to take over. Think what you want. It's true.

Well. That would....be....aaaaa....I don't even know.
I believe Kyle is gone, for sure.
To see him at BYU in any capacity is just unbelievable to me. He and Holmoe have a very good relationship. But he and Bronco is another matter.
To see Whit at BYU would most likely mean that Bronco is gone. Now, I can't imagine Bronco being fired this year. HOWEVER, I do keep hearing rumors from Twitter and from "the football underground" (high school coaches and friends of BYU) here in Utah county that Bronco is exploring options. This year more than ever Bronco's employment seems up in the air.
Personally, I can't picture Bronco moving on this year. I cannot utterly cannot see Whit moving taking his talents to Provo. He would take a massive pay cut and then have to deal with all the missionary, honor code, and independence crap that comes with BYU.
However, I cannot believe how many rumors there are right now that Bronco is leaving. At least it creates for interesting stories of a possible Whittingham takeover at BYU.

However, I would relay enjoy all of the Y fans who have hated on him at every turn for the last 20+ years now worshipping at his feet.
I wouldn't. At least as long as Bronco is gone. I don't see them co-existing.I would be beyond stunned if he ever ended up at BYU again.
I personally wish Kyle would have taken the job at BYU instead of Utah. Would trade in a heartbeat. However, I would really enjoy all of the Y fans who have hated on him at every turn for the last 20+ years now worshipping at his feet. .

Until Kyle is out the door, I'm very skeptical of it.Obviously, there'd be some Y fans that never had an axe to grind with Kyle. On the flip side, I've seem so many Y fans call out Whitt for being a classless Ahole, a guy who uses the honor code against BYU while recruiting, etc.
Make no mistake, I want no part of facing a Whittingham coached BYU team. I have no problem admitting that. He's a GIANT upgrade over Roscoe. I also think the rumor mill is out of hand right now. I refuse to believe Hill is going to let him walk unless he's positive he can pull a fast one and get somebody like Mullens. If he doesn't have that ace up his sleeve, why even risk it?
