Trade Idea!

true.. but who??

I'd rather have Isaiah Thomas.

Also, having Patterson on your team subtracts the contribution from Trevor Booker. If indeed Patterson would play ahead of him. If he didn't, then that just makes him worthless.

So essentially, you are trading Enes and Booker for Patterson? You might as well right? If Booker is just gonna be buried on the bench.

We should at least use Enes's value in a area of need, and a player with upside or a player established as a starter.

If Enes isn't enough, then combine it with picks. Take your best shot.

Would Philly want Kanter?

Could we get a 2nd round pick and KJ McDaniels for Kanter?

There are precisely 2 reasons why anyone would want Kanter right now, with RFA coming in the summer - a contender who needs offensive punch from their bigs off the bench or a team that considers Kanter a long-term key piece and is willing to match any offer in the summer. I honestly don't see anyone looking at Kanter as a key piece for any franchise with his horrible advanced stats and defense, low BBIQ and inability to pass. What Philly have been doing so far is the exact opposite to what such a trade would accomplish - they've been getting rid off pretty much every single piece that they don't consider long-term solution for them and they've been accumulating assets for their garbage pieces.

I would absolutely love that trade too, but again - I don't see them doing it.

I've thought about that too. I wonder what he is going to get as a free agent next year. I wonder if they are holding him back a little to hold down his value. We will have to pay him, but this could be golden opportunity to get someone good on a really decent deal. What if he gets like 6 mil a year and out plays it by a lot. The potential is there for that to happen.

Kanter has proven that he isn't a legit starting PF/C in this league. I doubt any team would offer more than $10m for him.

And at that price I'd rather keep him and see if he can develop.

??? Does Philly still have any rights over McDaniels? I thought this will be his last year with Philly?

Bird rights. They can pay more than any other team. Why any player would want to stay in Philly is beyond me though. So yeah, he is likely gone.

Keep Kanter. I don't think any team will offer him a big contract.

We should be able to resign him for $10m or less which is pretty much what we should be paying for a solid PF off the bench.

Even if we get him on the cheap, he may not be happy here coming off the bench. And there is a possibility he continues to sorta suck the rest of his career. You know, good like Al Jefferson, but not good.

Inefficient players are only good for bench scoring. If kanter wants to be something, he he got to get his head on straight. When he came in super fit that one training camp, I thought he had it figured out. Then he went nuts. The Jazz should have just payed someone to be his father during the season, and they could slap him around a few times a week, keep him in line.

You keep him if you can't find a good deal. Otherwise, you shop like hell, because this window isn't going to be open for very long. Soon he will be a gut everyone knows he is as a player and is making gobs of money, and he could not be worth it at that point. Then you are stuck with this albatross contract for 4 years. It's a risk to keep him I think. We don't need a an over payed back up. We have our two bigs.

I like Kanter and think he'll stick in the NBA, but like I said, we don't need his services anymore. It's time to shift gears and take that next big step.

I wonder how much Kanter fits in with the kind of team Quin is trying to build. Lots of passing, smart plays. Someone here compared Horford to Kanter saying they were too similar to trade. Horford just got a tribble double with assists.

We could use SF depth... I kinda just want a trade to happen though... Let DL cash in some assists for some quality pieces.

This.

He`s restricted this summer. With him being a 1 year player, there really is not a lot of money any team can offer him tu lure him away.

I think teams can offer him the mid-level exception money. That's the max. So... 4x5.5 or something of that sort. If I were the Jazz I'd offer him the max.

I think the lack of passing and low bbiq are much more damning for his future with the Jazz than his defense. You can potentially hide him in defense if he is giving you great offensive impact, but our system relies so much on passing and reads that his awkwardness with the ball in his hands and his slow and poor decision making simply make him at best a designated finisher of the attacks and nothing more. If you give him the ball in the post, forget about it... he's not passing it. The attack finishes with him getting the ball anywhere near the low post and he simply doesn't pass, even when double-teamed or overmatched.
