Rethinking our roster in light of Finals small ball

I think too much is being made of the small ball that we're seeing in the Finals. What I see is two coaches playing chess with their lineups and rotations. There's still plenty of room in the League for height and length, assuming they are paired with some measure of hustle and at least a hint...

Jazz to actively pursue Paul Millsap this offseason, per Spencer Checketts

Somebody will give him close to a max contract and the promise of a starting role. Heck, it might even be the Hawks. But the Jazz will offer neither of those things, especially if they're sane.

Remember as the draft approaches - Memo was a 2nd rounder

Tom Brady was a sixth rounder.

Frank the Tank or The anti small ball stategy - Play 3 seven footers who can defend the 3, 4, and 5.

I can only co-sign on the Jazz taking Frank if he has that sick headband-safety glasses combo that he rocked on one play of that highlight.

The Trade idea to revive all Trade ideas

Without throwing unnecessary ire at the OP, I don't like this trade for two reasons: all of the unknowns about the Portland players, and that both Jazz players are better than them. It's almost as if this would be making a trade for its own sake.

Frank the Tank or The anti small ball stategy - Play 3 seven footers who can defend the 3, 4, and 5.

I think the OP may be on to something. I've been looking at Dekker at 12 for the Jazz, but I'm starting to think that if the Tank is available, you take him instead. Before the emergence of Kevin Love a few years ago, I had been admittedly down on tall, fundamental American white guys who could...

    Any Good Dudes Available

    Shooters

Which is why, if Frank Kaminsky is on the board at 12, they will take him. Backup center, length, a true 7 footer, team guy, decent defender, big who can stretch the floor.

Bryce Cotton Making Most of Opportunity

There was a video of Cotton and Dunn working out with Shammgod that was just posted in the news forum. Those workouts look awesome. I've been a big Cotton fan for a few years (as a PC alum and follower of the team). He's legit and, by the end of this season, there will be no doubt that he's...

    Take Robert Upshaw

Personally, I just don't see it. While he does do some things well, overall, he just seems like a big oaf. I'd rather have Dakari Johnson if he falls to 54 or even if we take him at 42.

Don't the Sixers Have a Bunch of Picks

Huh? Asset portfolio? These aren't diversified stocks; they're players who haven't exactly been jumping out of their skin to come over and play for the Jazz in recent years. And all we're doing is collecting them -- not trading them. We have enough of those. No thank you.

Getting aggressive in the Draft this year

Well, some of these players have to be there at 12. I'm just saying that if both are there, and this opportunity were to present itself, I'd say go for it.

Getting aggressive in the Draft this year

I've already explained why they would be a good fit. See first post. And the wing we need is the wing we don't have: a 3/4.

Getting aggressive in the Draft this year

Nice clip. I really like him. Personally, I thought he tried to 'show' too much in the Championship game, and he kind of forced things. Thus, he may have ironically hurt his draft stock a little just when the nation's eyes were on him the most. I also like what Kaminsky brings to the table, as...

Getting aggressive in the Draft this year

So, I've been kicking around ideas in my head regarding this year's Draft and I think I have something that might work and might help us win now. Let's assume the Draft Lottery shapes up from picks 10-14 the way it's projected to. Consider: With the 12th pick, the Jazz select Sam Dekker. Utah...

    A trade with Boston.

If that offer was made, I'd be all in. But...I don't think the Nets are going to be among the five worst teams in the League next year. So I reckon the pick could very well be a lottery pick, but not possibly a top three as the OP mentioned. But I would take on Wallace's contract to get, say, a...

    Mathews and Deron?

I would say the OP is correct when it comes to Deron. As for Wes, when I was floating his name, I thought he was the best two-way shooting guard that we would have the ability to lure in free agency, given his willingness to stay after his first year (had things gone right). I also floated Khris...

    Boston Celtics trade

Being from Mass (and liking the Cs as my other team), I would have to say the trade is neither desirable nor feasible. For starters, the Jazz lose out. While Burke may not have a lot of supporters on this board, I believe he has value and some potential worthy of our consideration. I also like...

    Rondo anyone?

A big fat NO from me as well. Living, as I do, in the greater Boston area, I have watched Rondo for years. He was excellent when he was surrounded by three superstars that he respected (for the most part) and a coach that knew how to deal with him. But we've all seen what has happened since...

Zach Lowe: Utah trade 1st rounder for Batum

I love the weasel words. "Batum to Utah is a possibility." I'm not blaming OP necessarily, but this is how rumors with no legs begin. I'd like something more than a rumor before I even comment.
