(17-10) Jazz @ (18-10) Grizzlies - Gamethread

because there are more fatcors tyhan just 76%.

if you miss a ft, the following ft has a different change of going in. same could be said for the 3rd one after missing the first 2. because your model lacks those stats and other real world factors your model is flawed.
like for example it being a road game. or for example. players have for example different ft% for back to back or 1 day rest or 3 days rest! or on the road ft's have different changes of going in

your statiscal value fails because it is a simplified version of very complex, real world complex thing.

EDIT: i dont blame u. I blame the educational indoctrination system. thought u that ".24^3" is SCIENCE.

Lol, @gameace and Ron Mexico are science deniers and dislike my assessment of a complex problem! so they dislike my post!

If we could redo the 2014 draft would you skip Exum, and pick up Hood and Jokić?

No reason to skip Exum. Jazz could have drafted Jokic instead of Stokes in the 2nd. The better question is - If we could redo the 2014 season, should we have played JLIII a lot more and pushed harder for the #1 pick? Corbin switched to Burke because he wanted to save his job. I'd have fired him mid season and tanked properly for a better shot at Wiggins/Parker.

@GS, Sac, Tor, @LAL, Phi, Pho, @Bkn, @Bos, @Tor and @Min. That's the schedule through Jan 7th.

I see at least 7 wins out of 10. At least.

I think I would rather have Jokic than either Wiggins or Parker tbh

I give credit to Snyder that taught to the team to compete in every game no matter the injury situation since last season!

No way. Jokic would have had a tough time getting minutes and getting exposure on this team. Wiggins would be able to get minutes on this team and at least be a trade piece.

Shooters hit their percentages, those percentage don't change based on making or missing their last shot. Hot or cold streaks have been shown not to be real. That free throw percentage might not be right. He could be going up or down from it but it is the best number we have to do math from. Although I would say both math numbers were wrong but I don't really want to delve into it. Sorry you got your feelings hurt with disliking your incorrect post. I should know better, you are quite sensitive.

How bad was JLIII that Trey Burke was substantially better than him.... Guys never forget... it is a great time to be a jazz fan.

Right now, clearly.

Fingers crossed for "sustainably" ????? Can Rudy keep this up?

And I love Gasol.

Normally I would say that the player will come back to earth. Gobert is not a typical player. I am not betting against him, he will keep this going and will get even better next season.

He is, IMO, the premier rim protector and defensive anchor in the NBA. He is an offensive threat (again, I was wrong) and energy player. He is a legit rebounding presence.

What will he add next year? Elite passing skills?

Two years with Diaw? Maybe that's a realistic possibility. Right now I love that he's not trying to do more than he's capable of on the offensive end. Everything he does is efficient. His screens, hands and free throws are all significantly better than last year. It's clear that he identified his deficiencies and then made a real effort to improve them. Imagine the potential for improvement with a whole offseason NOT devoted to the French national team.
