In their 2nd season (1975-76) the Jazz finished 2nd to last in both the Central Division and Eastern Conference. The Jazz were 2nd in the league in FTs. The Jazz won their 2nd game of the season. They went 2-0 in 2OT games and 2-2 in games played on the 2nd. On of those losses was on March 2nd, 1976 when the Jazz lost by 2. In games decided by exactly 2 points, the Jazz went 2-3.

In their 2nd season in Utah (1980-81), the Jazz were 2nd to last in the Midwest Division and Western Conference. 22-year-old Dick Miller made 2 FGs and pulled down 2 defensive rebounds that season. It was Tom Nissalke's 2nd season as Jazz head coach. The Jazz lost their 2nd game of the season and went 0-2 when playing on the 2nd. The Jazz went 2-0 in overtime games, with the Jazz beating the Lakers by 2 in the 2nd to last game of the season. In games decided by exactly 2 points, the Jazz were 5-2.

This post will be 2riffic!

Elgin Baylor was the 2nd coach in Jazz history. He had 2 head coaching stints with the Jazz. The first was for 1 game on November 17, 1974. His 2nd stint with the Jazz lasted 2 seasons (1977-78 and 1978-79). Those were the last 2 seasons the Jazz played in New Orleans. The Jazz won the 2nd game of Baylor's 2nd stint with the Jazz. On November 2, 1977 the Jazz lost their 2nd game of the season by 2 points to the Kings. Baylor's Jazz coaching career ended with a 2-game losing streak followed by a 2-game winning streak (including a 2-point win over the Hawks) followed by another 2-game losing streak.

Did you know that Mark Eaton was drafted 2 times?

By Utah in the 4th round of the 1982 draft, and by Phoenix Suns in the 5th round of the 1979 draft.

At #2 in the all-time Jazz ranks (we all know which 2 guys should dominate this list):

Games: Karl Malone (1434)
Minutes: John Stockton (47764)
Points: John Stockton (19711)
Rebounds: Mark Eaton (6939)
Assists: Karl Malone (5085)
Steals: Karl Malone (2035)
Blocks: AK47 (1380)
3PFGs: Bryon Russell (540)
FTs: John Stockton (4788)
Win shares: John Stockton (207.7) - Since I haven't been posting all of the leaders in this category, to give you and idea of how far ahead Stockton and Malone are of everyone else, Adrian Dantley is #3 with 76.3.

The Grizzlies selected Blue Edwards away from the Jazz with the 2nd-to-last pick in the 1995 expansion draft. Edwards was in his 2nd stint with the Jazz.

nazr mohammed wore #2 for the san antonio spurs when he won his only NBA championship. the 14-year vet made his 2nd NBA finals appearance last year with the thunder. of course, the jazz technically drafted nazr, but traded him on draft night because they were coming off their 2nd finals themselves and didn't feel like their rotation -- much less their frontcourt -- needed a lot of help. so they traded him for a 1999 pick, but don't worry, we got plenty of value in return for an eventual champion with a 14 year (and counting) career: we draft quincy lewis with that pick. quincy debuted on the 2nd of november that year, but would only play for 2 teams in his brief career before heading to europe. oops, we might want that one back.

in 2003, bryon russell unexpectedly reunited with the player who made him an infamous footnote in finals history when he signed with michael jordan's wizards. b-russ wore #2 for the wizards. he played two full seasons after that, plus a 1-game appearance for the nuggets in 2005-06.

after rony seikaly allegedly vetoed a trade to utah in 1998, he was traded to the nets where he wore #2. he only started 2 games for the nets though (out of 18 total games) because at that point he was very limited by injuries.

mo williams wore #2 for the cleveland cavaliers, where he played 2nd fiddle for lebron james but the duo got bounced in the conference finals two straight years.

technically they have ASG MVPs -- malone got it twice, stockton once.

The 2nd pick by the Raptors in the 1995 expansion draft was used to select Tony Massenburg, who averaged nearly 2 rpg with the Jazz in the 2002-03 season.

Here's an obvious one. The Jazz have been located in 2 cities - New Orleans and Salt Lake City. That said, they did experiment by playing some "home" games in Las Vegas.

The Jazz have played in 2 home arenas in Salt Lake City, the Salt Palace and Delta Center/EnergySolutions arena.

Let's give mellow the benefit of the doubt by assuming he meant that 2 Jazz players won All-Star MVP awards.

except that in the same post he mentioned two league MVPs even though it was two awards by one player...

DeShawn Stevenson played 222 regular season games with the Jazz. He was drafted by the Jazz in the 2000 NBA draft. He had 2 blocks in his rookie season, when he started 2 games, and 2 3PFGs in his 2nd season. In his 3rd season he averaged about 2 (1.9) FGs per game. In his fourth NBA season he played with 2 teams. He was with the Jazz until 2/18/2004, when they traded him to the Magic for Gordan Giricek. Those were the only 2 active players involved in the trade, which also included a future 2nd round draft pick that went to the Magic. DeShawn was 22 when he was traded.
