#2 pick

It's available and Charlottle is asking a lot for it. Any ideas on what it could take to get it? And what would you be willing to give up?

I'd do Al + Burks + GS pick, but would that be enough?

see franklin's thread.

I thought there was a thread on this topic, so before I started this thread I went to see if I could find it. I didn't see it, so I started this thread. I've since found it (now that I know it was Franklin who started it), and realized I didn't notice it because it was just labeled "Trade Idea". My bad

That is too much for me. If there were not one but two Anthony Davis in this years draft then I would say yes, but there is not. Too much. Take a chance on something else.

I don't see any way that Al will be a part of this team's future, so if I could get either Beal, Barnes or MKG I'd do this deal in heartbeat.

If it was just GS pick and AL then great but adding in Burks is too much. There is not a guarantee that they will be better than Burks, hence the risk is too high.

If it was for just Al then yes. Giving up Burks and the GS pick just to get a good piece but also to get rid of Al is too much for me. I know that might be hard to believe because I feel like I have been very vocal about how Jefferson is hurting this teams future.

It's available for a reason.

No.

Yes, because Charlotte is GD awful and no one other than Davis in this draft could possibly single-handedly right the ship there. Charlotte's in a position that they need multiple playerS/pieces to begin to make them competitive.

I think the fact that the 2nd pick is available is more a reflection of where the Bobcats are as a franchise, than it is of the talent that will be available at 2.

I agree with most of this. I would gladly trade the GS pick and Al if we could get the #2 and the #31 from them.

And there's no guarantee that Burks will be better than the #2. In fact there's a really good chance that he won't be better than #2.

I'm sure Charlotte wouldn't accept Al + GS pick for #2, so I don't see why they'd also throw in #31 as well.

I agree that would not get the pick, which is why we are not getting it. The asking price is too high and the pick is very uncertain.

Hey Broncster, do you recall the bet you lost to me with regards to Ronnie Price? I forgot who it was that I made the bet with, but now I'm sure it was you.

Let's try to remember that for all of his warts, Burks already gets to the line at an all-star rate, is explosive, quick, crafty, can handle the ball, and shoots alright in catch-and-shoot situations. I'm not hitching my wagon to him being the next Kobe, but there's a lot of reason to be very optimistic about the player he could become.

Bobcats need to stockpile talent.
Don't see them giving up two of the top 31 picks this year for Jefferson and a midround first next year.
Bobcats need young exciting players to sell tickets.
