#2 pick

After reminding everyone that the Jazz should have moved Jefferson for nothing after the 20th game, and would now own two lottery picks...

The question here isn't whether there's a #2 at #2, but what the #2 could be traded down for. Does Portland offer the 6 and?? (Batum snt would be a dream come true).
The Maloofs are doing their best to trump Kahn and Jordan in stupidity, so do they take it for the 5 and Tyreke Evens? (another dream)
Does Cleveland take it, Harris and Bell expirings for the #4?

Jazz dump Harris, Bell, Jefferson, give Burks, the GSW pick, and another pick for #4 and enough cap room to sign Batum, Nash, and any other player Nash thinks gives him one last shot.

Screw it, I'd almost give the #2 away to anyone willing to take Harris and Bell, and put the Jazz in a position to spend $35 million this summer. Detroit has cap room. Give it to them for the #8, take your Precious Lillard, and start calling every player agent in the league.

I think Beal> Burks. So I would do an Al and Burks for whatever pick Beal would be taken (#5,6,7??) and something else

As a fervent Big Al hater, I know this is heresy for me to say, but I think on the Jazz (off the bench preferably), I think he could've really helped. Maggette certainly never helped abysmal teams be anything but, but it's hard to say that in a different situation, his fate would be sealed as a total ball-hog.

If only the Clippers didn't match.

Sorry, skipped the 3 pages ..

I HATE the #2 pick. Just too much parity between 2 and 6 to pay for the 2.

Bobcats need to stockpile talent.
Don't see them giving up two of the top 31 picks this year for Jefferson and a midround first next year.
Bobcats need young exciting players to sell tickets.

Unless Sloan becomes the coach..

This draft is going to be an interesting because a number of the upside players (Drummond, PJIII, Q.Miller, Wroten, T.Jones, Leonard) aren't really impressing teams that much, and the remaining players have limited ceilings.

Charlotte isn't happy with #2 and doesn't have a coach yet.
GSW isn't happy with #7 and wants to trade for a vet SF.
Toronto isn't thrilled with #8.
Portland is a bit underwhelmed with their picks, but they'll probably get two strong guards out of it, which is why Toronto is a bit grumpy.
Orlando doesn't have a GM.
Minnesota is thinking about moving Derrick Williams in an attempt to make up for the debacle that is Wesley Johnson.
The Sixers want to move Iguodala, want a post scorer, and can't figure out if Evan Turner has a position or not.

The Jazz should want Lillard, but now he's expected to go at #6 or #8.

Everyone seems a bit grumpy except NOH, Washington and Cleveland.

Hey Broncster, do you recall the bet you lost to me with regards to Ronnie Price? I forgot who it was that I made the bet with, but now I'm sure it was you.

I am not denying making a bet since I do that but this does not ring a bell. What was the bet about?

Repped for the Wesley Johnson jab.

I think you are looking into pre-draft smoke screens too much.

I would love to see Derrick Williams as our 3 along with Hayward at the 2, Millsap at 4, and Favors at 5. The 1 of the future will still need to be addressed though.

Smokescreens or not, I don't think this draft is living up to the hype for a lot of teams, and there ought to be a number of trades.
I think Thomas Robinson is a legit #2 pick. So I do think Charlotte is blowing some smoke to see what they can get.

But Golden State isn't going to be thrilled with Jared Sullinger, a 6'9" center.
Detroit isn't going to be altogether thrilled with John Henson as their 220 lb enforcer
Terrence Jones is a rich man's Ed Davis if he can't play SF.
The Baylor guys are dropping like stones.

So this draft isn't good anymore?

No one asked, but I'd probably do this;

#2 - Robinson
#3 - Drummond
#4 - Barnes
#5 - MKG
#6 - Beal

So this draft isn't good anymore?

The draft is deep with talent, but the players at 3 - 6 don't seem better than in year's past, and maybe a bit worse. If the players PKM just listed pan out, then it will go down as a strong draft, but right now teams don't seem all that convinced.

If we somehow got #2 and we can't trade down (for whatever reason, i.e., Portland happy with its picks, etc).

Who would you take at #2 given the players we already have on our team?

I think Jeremy Lamb, Austin Rivers, and Damian Lillard still have star potential, but they're in the 8 - 12 range.
I would imagine that these are the picks that a lot of teams want. It just wouldn't surprise me if GSW, Detroit and Toronto are willing to trade their picks in that range.

I think Jeremy Lamb,

A six foot five, very smooth player, can hit it from three, and take it to the hoop, good from the ft line, the talent to play defense, averaged 5 rebs a game, 2 assists and 1 steal a game. I think he will jump up into the top 5 when all is said and done. He has potential to be an amazing shooter and fast. He isn't some Marvin Williams/MKG project that may be very good. He could easily be a 20-25 a night scorer.

Scoot on over with the Austin Rivers love. That's my territory. Kid will be a solid can't go wrong pick.

I still have a feeling about Barnes being good. Plus he may the the Klay Thompson of the draft as the guy who's jumpshot I could watch all day.

I'm not gonna make you pay up as I think the statue of limitations has expired by now, but you were extremely confident that a Mr. Ronnie Price would adorn a Jazz jersey last year.
