2011 draft.....

Oh please, you are being a bit dramatic. We easily have the talent on the roster currently (assuming we have a completely healthy roster at the start of next season) to win at least 40 games. So much crap has happened this year its almost impossible to give an accurate benchmark of how good this team is. With the addition of two lottery picks we are easily in position to make the playoffs next year as a low seed, especially if one of the picks comes in puts up a solid rookie season.

How dare you accuse O Gatino of being dramatic! Never a day in his ****ing life!!!!

Dwade dominated. 18 points (49 % FG), nearly 3 steals, nearly 7 rebounds, and 3 assists.
Roy didn't do much, only received 17 mins per game in only 13 games.

We need guys that can give us immediate help their rookie seasons. Barnes just may be that guy. We'll have to see... And we'll have to hope that the Jazz coach will give guys PT to prove themselves...

I thought Roy was first team all NBA rookie? Maybe even rookie of the year?

Edit: Yeah, he had almost 17 ppg and over 4 rebounds and 4 assists per...

Yes.... And we've seen how well he's played this year too....

Barnes might end up being the best player in this draft. I'm not knocking that.

However, if he doesn't come in and average 15+ points, we're not going to win even 30 games next year. We are in desperate need of someone to come in and have a Dwade type impact on our team. I remember in his rookie year, he came in and completely changed the whole dynamic of that Heat franchise.

The other issue is Jazz coaching. You'd think that Favors and Hayward would be getting a LOT more PT than they have received. Who's to say next year that CJ, AK, or Raja won't be starting over Barnes?
Who's to say that someone like Millsap or Elson won't be starting over Favors or Enes (if we draft him?)?
Who's to say that Earl Watson/Ronnie Price won't start over Jimmer or whoever else we possibly draft as PG?

There are many factors that we will need to consider. Even if we score well and take the "right" players this draft, a lot will depend on the Jazz's ability to develop them. Judging from our past track record, and Ty's current (stupid) rotations, I'm left with a severe lack of confidence.

Lastly, it would be stupid to stash an international player. We need help NOW. We don't need to stash someone over seas so they can get a good contract in Europe and then cost us an insane amount of money to buyout (and then later find that they're too stiff and soft to survive in the NBA).

Stay domestic and draft the BPA.

You are making these statements based on the assumptions that the Jazz FO will not make any changes than drafting the players, which I don't think is going to be the case.

I believe Barnes will be the best fit for the Jazz no matter what though. Sadly, that almost always means it won't happen........

The problem is if he continues to have solid games in the tournament. He will probably be gone by 6-7. If only we had a crystal ball. I definitely think one of the Euros is going to be a big time player. The question is which one?

He's already gone by 6 or 7. Heck, he's probably cracked the top 5 now. If he has a great tourney, he could crack the top 3.

Thriller you are way too tense man. Smoke a j and listen to some beach boys.
Who can be able to come in and help right away outside Williams and Irving? Looking at these mocks over and over leaves me only more confused. Right now Barnes looks like a guy we have to take if we get the chance. He may take a year or two to really be the man for us. Who cares? We are still in rebuilding mode next year. I just want to have a team that is actually improving, and is fun to watch again.

Let's put pressure on Hayward and Favors to step up for us next year, not the rookies.

I like Kanter. My only concern is his knees. Don't want another Borschardt experience.
So I'm researching his knees a little more. If anyone has some good info on his knee problems, please post. Here's some stuff I read on a raptors site:
https://www.raptorsdigest.com/could-enes-kanter-destroy-the-raptors/

"So what is the issue with Enes Kanter?

His knees.

At only age 19, Kanter has already had serious issues with both of his knees, issues that are serious enough that some draft pundits believe he may not check out when subjected to NBA medical testing.

Knee issues at such a young age run the risk of becoming chronic and makes a Kanter selection a boom or bust pick in the truest sense of the phrase.

The other issue has more to do with the litany of solid talent in the 2011 draft that have higher floors than Kanter."

And then in the comments section of this article I read:

"I’m also not sure whether his knee issues are being overblown. He has missed time do to a knee injury, but from what I gather, it was one time and he hasn’t had any problems with his knees in a couple of years. Thankfully, these are things the doctors can check out."

Now I don't know who this guy is - he's probably just a fan, but I wonder where he's "gathering" his information. If Kanter has no serious knee issue I don't see how you can pass him up.

So would you take him with Nets pick if available or let him slide and take him with Jazz pick if still available?

Kanter won't make it to our 2nd pick. If Irving or Barnes isn't available, take Kanter with our first pick.

I think we can trade the nj pick and milsap for washingtons pick. They want a pf plus more young talent. If Washington landed top 3 would you do this?

That's a lot to give up for a top 3 pick. Not saying I wouldn't love to get one of those guys in the top 3. Just that we would be giving up Paul and a good pick.

If I thought we could get Irving or Derrick Williams, then yes. You see how we didn't really miss Millsap in the 4th tonight? If I'm Washington though, I'd take Derrick Williams myself.
