What's new

2014 College Football

Obviously nobody is taking it to that extreme. I think this is just one of those things that BYU fan isn't going to think is very weird and most everybody else is.

Imagine the celebration if they manage to beat Utah in 2016. Provo > Fergusen.
I think it's weird to make a fuss about college kids celebrating a nice road win during a frustrating season.

I think a much stranger celebration was the raiders winning a meaningless game last week in Oakland.

As far as overcelebration goes, this ranks pretty low imo.
I have seen alot of teams fans rush the field after winning a game against an average opponent in a meaningless game (I think the utes even did this a few times in the mtn west seasons.... I didn't think that was a big deal either. I believe celebrating wins is a good thing to do no matter how happy a team or thier fans are about it)

How bad is Rob Daniel? I think he gave up every one of those TD passes.

Yeah, I don't what happened between this year and last. He seemed like an above average CB last year. He doesn't only get completely dusted ocassionaly, he makes bad plays while being in relatively good position too. He's more of a safety in reality. Skye Povey looked so much better playing safety this year as opposed to corner last year and I imagine Rob would be the same way. He'll actually probably get some NFL looks at that position. BYU needs to recruit the secondary better so they can have guys playing the positions they are suited for, instead of having 12 safties.

For the most part we'll agree to disagree. I've been critical of my fellow Ute fans for rushing the field against mediocre teams, etc. Maybe there is no "wrong" way to celebrate a win but if K-Whitt did a Triple Lindy into the arms of one of his grown-man assistants after Utah had the pick 6 to beat lowly Colorado, I'd be pretty embarrassed by it and think he was an ***-clown for such behavior.

Riley to Nebraska. Firing Pelini to hire Riley? Meh.

It would be bittersweet to see Bronco get the Beaver job. I'm guessing football would then be 5th at OSU but I want him to stay at BYU for a long, long time.

Interesting. I always thought Riley was an Oregon State lifer because he's from that town. I also had no idea the guy is 61. I thought maybe 40's. Watch them go after Lane Kiffin now.

Hopefully Oregon State does really put the press on Bronco and he is open to it. I'm tired of him. Give Ken Niumatalolo or somebody like that a go.

I know somebody will eventually do it, but I can't imagine why anybody would even consider Lane Kiffin.

now you're trying to shift the conversation to over-celebration on the part of the fans? The conversation is about over-celebration on the part of the coaches and players. Are you confused? What do the Utes have to do with this??

Bronco has always been criticized for being so serious, stoic, and undercelebrating.

Kinda nice too see him get excited.

Seems almost like a Saturday Night Live skit or something.

Still waiting for yall that claim this is normal to show me a video of another coach doing something similar...

Fine, I'll say it. I thought the jump into the other coach was strange and maybe a bit disturbing, and I think the video of the celebration is over the top.

Not sure why the Cal win was that exciting, it was nice... but that nice?

There, I said it. Happy?

/agreeing with Ute fans about Bronco

There will probably be a point a decade or two down the road where he might be a good HC if aging/maturing helps with his personality defects. That seems to be about 3/4's the battle with him.

Congrats on being a normal person.

Ute fans better brace themselves for the loss of Sitake. Head Coaching opportunities and the fact that Chris Hill made a lot of Whitt's assistants coach this season without contract extensions has all bit guaranteed his exit. If he doesn't land the Colorado State or UNLV job, I'd be willing to bet Sarkisian lures him to USC as DC.

From a scheme standpoint, I think Morgan Scalley can step right in. However, Sitake was a crucial piece of recruiting poly players. This could be a big loss for Utah.
