I have no gripes with that, only with the fact the Dirk remains an efficient shooter at his age. He's still a HoF who provides leadership, championship experience, and okay contributions. I think that is fair. His stats are going downhill and I expect that to continue next year at an accelerated rate. Watching him play towards the end of the season it was her clear to me he has hit the tipping point of being helpful to winning.

Maybe he will prove me wrong this season and have a resurgence but its a better guess that he will continue down hill at a rapid rate like players do at that age and he has been.

Ehh, I dont think so. You play him Joe Johnosn minutes (probably with more rest days tho) and he is still very effective. Just like JJ, his stats suffered on bad teams. Look at JJ's last year and a half in Brooklyn (worse defensive ratings than Dirk has ever had). He wasnt very good, but played much better in Miami and later on in Utah. He still has an unguardable shot and provides a ton of spacing. His on/off stats dont suggest his presence is a huge defensive liability either because their defensive rebounding and defensive rating was basically the same with or without him on the court.

I wouldn't draft JJ in this either.

But watching Dirk play it's clear to me he is further done than an almost 4 year younger JJ. I don't see him being very useful on a winning team especially a 16 team league. He is well in the bottom half of the league now.

This is probably not one of my best picks, but damn this guy is fun to watch play.

His passing + Jokic's passing will make my team incredibly entertaining. Plus he's a pretty good shooter, and he'll play a good role as a backup.
