2019 Trade Deadline Discussion

Of course you like it. Orlando would never do that.
Yeah, I agree its unlikely. But they are ready for a change, but Gordon is pretty much their only player worth much. They would be a better team this year with the trade and adding a 1st round pick might make it worth it. They are ready to get rid of Fournier and he isnt worth much with his contract.

I still want TJ Warren, I think he's an under the radar difference maker that could really excel with us.

He scares me a bit but that one could have a good payoff. I'm not sure he's played defense or winning basketball... because Phoenix.

Plan S or T should be to keep Favors. We need to turn over many stones before then.

Not really if it's just sacrificing valuable space in next FA for a lesser option... If Faves option is retained it's not for a lack of effort.

I do think it's possible Jazz land Ibaka in FA since Toronto will probably want to get off that last year if Leonard resigns or get off him and move on if Leonard leaves.

I think Plan B is to just pick up Faves option and try again next FA. There's only 2 shot w/ Don on a rookie contract.

We could sign someone in the $15M range and still work to max cap space again. Cap is supposed to go up again and Jae/Kyle come off the books. I think we might want DM to sign his extension early... just because we might wanna lock it up... so his cap number may only be low for one more year. Probably depends on how the summer goes, but I think this is our best shot.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think that's how it works. He would still be $5 million in the 2020 FA and then his extension would kick in for 2021, even if he signs it early.

You are right... my bad... his 5th year is different if unsigned. the caphold would be lower... Anywell carry on here.

Ibaka is a C now. And getting older

I hear ya, but that's another reason I think he may be trade-able and also we might be able to get him for a more reasonable offer.

Right... scared money don't make none.

Woj reporting Conley and Gasol are officially on the block.

Glad they aren't dumb like some teams hanging on too long... looking at you Washington.

Well we're not bringing in A-listers any time soon my friend, he can be a great piece of the puzzle and not have the added stress of being The Man since we have Mitchell. Tobias Harris is a pipe dream in a trade, we're better off throwing the kitchen sink at him in FA.

I was agreeing. It’s like... no guts no glory... I like him and he could be budget Harris. I’d want to know about his work habits and such.

Yeah, I dont see the Jazz doing that. We just dont chase FAs very often, nor has DL ever done it. But maybe this is the year that changes but I doubt it. FAs will be overpaid again this year and DL does not like to overpay. I think it is most likely we trade for a vet on a decent contract or one that we liked before and can get their bird rights.

Tony Jones has been adamant for a long time that the Jazz want to be players in 2019 free agency and believe they can be. Tony's typically very accurate in his coverage of the Jazz.
