2023 NBA Draft Megathread

If there’s a draft day deal, I hope it’s to trade up to #10. I don’t feel strongly enough about the guys above 9. But I’d still like to get whoever falls+first choice of the next group.
Agreed, but Wallace at 16 > trading up for anyone believably available at 10

The mocks today have been unbelievably generous.

so if we believe the rumors of the day its

1-wemby
2-Miller
3-scoot
4-Amen
5-Walker
6-Ausar
7-Black/Hendricks/Cam - if we trade up and take Black does Washington take Cam or Hendricks... cuz that is what might give Indy some pause. Can they get Hendricks while moving back.

There is also the weird Bufkin stuff but I think that is OKC.
Bufkin didn't do a workout with OKC, the Jazz, and someone else around our pick that I dont recall. So, that is what is so weird since it would suggest he has a promise of a top 8 pick.

He was pictured with SGA in a workout situation and they are a team with some promise shenanigans in the past.

Teams have raised "yellow flags" about Whitmore's medicals
What are the yellow flags exactly?
If the Jazz can't move up from 9, I'd take Bilal and trade up from 16 for Bufkin. I'd like the Jazz to get Walker, but a Bilal/Bufkin draft would suit me just fine. I think both those two are going to be impact players.
Getting Walker doesn’t seem in the cards for the jazz sadly.
Dude… I really didn’t feel like doing this but you forced my hand. This was in late April.
Lol there’s absolutely no hate in any of that. Lmao.

If it were me, I'd be there live on TV and heading to the podium after getting my named called as a 30 prospect. Just for the awesome experience of making it to the nba.
We just did a family/friends party when my Lil cousin went #1 in 09(baseball)
But I don't even think baseball drafts do any sort of green room.

Rupert looks very... meh to me. What's the appeal? How does he succeed in the league?
The appeal would just be having two wings with 7'2 wingspans who project as plus defenders. Just would be fun to see.

I'm sure it's happened before, but how many teams have a lineup where their 2 and 3 have a 7'2 wingspan? The Clippers are probably the closest with Kawhi and Batum, but Kawhi is rarely on the court and Batum only has a 7'1 wingspan

And I think Rupert has a great chance.

He comes from a professional basketball family. Both parents were pros. His sister plays in the WNBA. Teams like him a lot (green room invite). I think he has a solid chance at a Thabo esque career.

I woke up this morning with the realization that I like the idea of Walker a lot more than I like the actual player Walker.

Why am I waking up and making draft realizations? I think there is something wrong with me, I've spent way too much time on this draft.

Isn't it the tanking contingent's position that DA lost the chicken game with Pelinka this past season?
No… that was a game of chicken he should not have played. This is also different.

Look this is a hospital for true sickos. It’s better not to fight… embrace the disease.

If you’re not dreaming about draft prospects then you haven’t watched enough YouTube highlight reels tbh
