What's new

#53--OKC @UTJ 9:00 PM ET, February 12, 2013 ESA, SLC

Perry jones must be thee most unlucky person in the world. Has to play behind some of the best sf/pf combos in the world. Ibaka and KD are beasts

Corbin was going to send Al to the bench and Al said no.We know what happened next,Corbin listened to Al and left him in.We know who runs the team now dont we?

I think we can all agree (except Corbin) Al shoots way too many shots. However, tonight I can't complain because our young guns ran one of the best teams in the nba out of the building in the fourth

Scottie Brooks kind of counfounded me when he put Collison on Big Al while Jazz were trying to put the game out of reach. Collison is a solid role player but no way he guards Big Al. That was a gift.

I actually quite like that Al when he makes a quick move in the post. He had a couple of shots tonight like Harp said were unguardable. The Al that pump fakes on jumpers, or the one who just sits in the post drives me nuts. He owned Collison with good hard post up game.

Freakin hilarious to me that our bench went toe to toe with their best players and increased the lead by far enough than not even TY could justify putting the starters back in.
.
Still drove me nuts in the 1st half, when Favors scored 4 straight points and gets a block on the other end yet still gets pulled right afterwards.

And right after he goes to the bench, OKC gets a layup.

just wondering, but if we had Perry Jones, and he wasn't getting playtime, even though he doesn't get the time in OKC would we be pissed, or is he not that good

I think he just got drafted by the wrong team. There are zero minutes for him this year. I wish the Jazz had drafted him when he dropped. I think he can play the SF position too. I certainly would rather have Jones playing on a rookie contract instead of Marvin Williams and his 7 million $ contract considering his production. I also like the Jackson kid too.

Whoa. Daniel orton and russel Westbrook have the exact same face!
Link? ;)
al took 25% of jazz fg and scored 21% of jazz buckets(game not over)

Stats can be misleading. He shot a lot but hit 50%. That stat isn't overrated. Don't we want players that are hitting shots at that rate to shoot. Let's face it Al doesn't play a power game. His great footwork is partly to blame, because he relies on it almost exclusively. If he had more of a power game he'd be an Allstar making max money. Face it Al had a good game on offense tonight.

Per Lock twitter, we just witnessed KD's 1st career flagrant. What was that thread about Spurs or OKC. I think I'd prefer OKC after tonight.

23 points on 22 shots is pathetic. Your stat is horribly overrated. PPS is a much better judge of efficiency.
.
We want players who are efficient on offense while being decent or better defensively. Al is neither.

Hate to be Buzz Killington to all the trade fan boys out there but with this win I'd bet the chances of The Jazz trading Millsap and/or Jefferson at the deadline just decreased from about 35% to 25%.

Some people don't watch the game, they just opine from the stats.

Jefferson played a good game tonight, but some just can't handle that.

Games like these are double edged swords. Yay we won. But damn why the hell doesn't this team play with just half his passion and energy on the road? How good would this team be if we had given the young kids more pt over the past 2 years? How much better would we be if we started our bench instead? Could we be a contender if we got a pg out of Jefferson?

I know everyone is thinking it, so I'll ask it. I'm seeing improvement from Burks, now that he's in the rotation, what's going to happen once Mo and Hayward get healthy? The only way I see Burks getting minutes is if Ty makes either him or Foye the full-time back up pg, and honestly I think the jazz are wasting Burks talents if they make him the full time backup pg, but someone like a Harden that can take the playmaking pressure off of whoever is at pg like he did for Watson tonight.

I never said he didn't. I said that's not that good. Pretty bad when an average efficiency night makes everybody think he had a good game.
.
He was better tonight than most nights though.

That was my thought, too. Wish KOC had the cajones to call back the teams that have made inquiries, send them a game tape and tell them the price just went up.
