16 ppg.

1.5 apg

Those numbers do look a little underwhelming, but consider the depth of bigs, and playing time could be down for all the bigs. I am in no way saying that Big Al will have a down year.

I wish he would get rid of the wizzy. I don't think he shoots it for a very high percentage since he's usually in a pretty awkward position when he tries it. If the shot's not there, I would rather he work the offense instead of that goofy lookin shot.

I think his rebounding numbers will go down instead of up this year since Favors and Millsap will be playing along side him. I see those two taking a lot away from him.

I think your numbers are pretty close (I say about 17 & 8) - but more because of less minutes as opposed to poor play.

AJ averaged about 38mpg the last 40 or so games last year - that's way too much for him. Jazz lost a lot of games late because AJ and Millsap were both gassed down the stretch. With the increased depth he should be finishing but seeing no more than 33mpg.

I think his efficiency numbers will go up.

In an insane up and down year, and his first with the Jazz, AJ averaged this last year:

18.6 ppg
9.7 rpg
1.8 apg
0.6 spg
1.9 bpg

His best year in Minny was

23.1 ppg
11 rpg
1.6 apg
0.8 spg
1.7 bpg

And he is a career 50% guy (.502 I think)

It's not a stretch to see some of those come up this year, especially as he will be the go-to guy, at least initially, and he is more comfortable in Utah. Corbin will expect him to carry much of the load. And he is entering his prime. 21, 11, 2, 2, 1 is not by any means out of the question. In that year in Minny he got those numbers, by rounding. :)

Did you pull this out of your panis?

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to BabyPeterzz again.

Impossible to predict, with a new coach who might drastically change our offensive system. If we keep Big Al, I'd think with his skill level offensively he'd get a lot of touches, but then if Favors gets significant minutes, he could become our dominant guy in the paint. Favors is clearly a superior athlete, and if he's gotten bigger and stronger as has been reported, the sky's the limit for him.

I think Al is poised for something like 21/11. The problem with Al's offensive game is the free throws. The ironic problem he has is his moves in the post are so good that he often gets shots off unaltered. He gets most of his calls on the drop step up and under. But the righty push shot and the jumper rarely get tagged. What he needs to do is stop trying to make every shot clean, recognize he's got the drop on a defender, and get into their body. It's tough for a guy to learn this mentally because it means taking a slightly lower percentage shot. And on the righty push, he has to start by going in more aggressively, almost as if it was a drive he had to abort. Then the same push shot gets contact before he takes it. This is all subtle stuff I'm convinced he will figure out.

I don't care about numbers with Al. I'd like to see him run the floor better, continue to improve his passing, be more aggressive and physical when he decides to shoot, and do a better job rotating on D. If he does those things, the numbers will be there AND the Jazz will be much improved.

I just want to see him dunk more, generally be more aggressive with his body to the rim. I want him and Favors to be a constant barrage of dunking and for Sap to be raining 3's like Ray Allen.

I think he will do what he was doing at the end of last season to start the season, then taper down when other players develop.

I do expect these kind of numbers but with somewhat less shot attempts and better assists and possibly fewer boards due to Favors gobbling up his share.

Aside from #s what I really want to see is boxing out and passing to cutters. If Jefferson does those two things IMO he will make a lot of fans in Utah.
