What's ridiculous about it? In most years late firsts are available for $3M in cash. Teams like Miami, or teams trying to clear cap space to go after big name FA's are willing to get rid of their first rounders. I didn't mention the straight cash option, but I could almost guarantee Miami would trade their 30th pick for the 35th if that was the scenario. Look at the deals that were done in the last draft. Perhaps I was a bit TOO generous in what Utah would need to give up. Maybe Utah trades their 2nd and GS' 1st to move up into the late teens. Then sees a player they really like in the late 20's and buys another pick.Holy ****ing ****.
