George Hill got a 5 year extension so it looks like he won the starting PG role in Indy and if Pacers don't match Portland's offer to Hibbert then they will need a center.

This is what was said today about Hibbert and the Pacers:

Indy Star columnist Mike Wells said on Twitter Thursday that his gut reaction was that the Pacers will not match Portland's four-year, $59 million offer to free agent center Roy Hibbert.
It's impossible to know what the Pacers are going to do here, but if anyone should have an inkling it's Wells, who covers the team on a daily basis.

So, Fat Al and Watson for Collison and a lottery protected 1st. We open up 12 million dollars in cap space and get rid of his black hole ***. Collison gives us a quick penetrating PG who has a deadly mid range floater plus he is a much better passer than Mo. Upgrade over Tinsley and Watson

How is it dumb? 12 million dollars in cap space, get a better backup PG who is an expiring contract and get rid of Big Al. Killing three birds with one stone
 
I wouldn't be terribly shocked if it happened. We got a little less tahn I expected for Harris. This would be a little less than I expect for Jefferson.

I could live with it. But, I'd think we'd want Hansborough in addition.
 
So Mo becomes the backup? I don't see KOC wanting that to happen. It seems to me Mo came here knowing he was going to be the starter. Collison isn't all that great anyways. IMO, I would rather get a different piece.
 
Statistically, Jefferson is a top 5 center in the league. I think we can do better than trading him for a backup PG and a crappy lottery protected draft pick.
 
This has been mentioned too many times to count, and I still think it's a reasonable idea. I believe teams are starting to understand how many negatives Al brings to the table and aren't going to give up anything of extraordinary value to get him.

It's addition, simply by subtraction, but also gets us a great backup PG who could possibly turn into the PG of the future after Mo is all out of gas, along with a 1st round pick that could be combined with the GS pick to get something of real value, all while clearing up space for Favors and Kanter to grow. I've certainly heard worse ideas.

Duncan
Aldridge (now will be PF, I guess)
Hibbert (12/8/2; more youth)
Gasol (either of them)
Chandler (for overall defensive impact)
Maybe Gortat

Unlikely unless he continues to improve the above.
