Who would you rather see be the backup PG next year (Assuming Dante starts and Trey and Cotton are still only other PG's on the roster): Bryce Cotton or Trey Burke?

Personally, I like the way Cotton pushes the pace and I think he'll shoot a higher percentage from deep than Burke. I bet Quin likes the way Cotton pushes pace too btw.

Cotton.

I said this the minute we signed him, he looks quicker and bouncier than Burke. Much lighter on his feet which is what I like from my PG. His 3 point shooting seems to be a bit more consistent as well. Most of all he likes to pass it more than Trey and looks to be truly unselfish.

I pretty much agree. He just seems to do something's Trey does not. He's also more entertaining to watch then Trey.

Cotton shoots about as well as Trey, but he does push the pace. There's no difference defensively. The main thing with Cotton is he's probably not going to always look for his shot. We might get some of those 3-12 games, but none of the 4-22 ones. Ideally, Lindsey trades our pick + Burke for a starting PG. Exum comes off the bench and Cotton (or Neto) becomes our 3rd-string PG.

You might be right. But would that work defensively to have Burks at the 1 with Hood, Hayward or Jingles playing the 2?

Still think he'd be better than either Trey or Cotton. Kind of warming to the idea of Burks as the backup PG and Burke/Cotton/Neto all fighting for a shot at the 3rd/4th PG job (depending on how many they keep.)

I'd take Trey. Trey is more proven and is currently being asked to do too much. I still think Burke can thrive as a backup PG. I still have hope.

How would yall feel about Patrick Beverly? He's such a pest and would really fit in well with the Jazz's junkyard dog mentality!

Yes I think it works defensively.
I worry about Burks ability to run the offense as a pg though

Not enough data on Cotton yet. My gut says neither one is the answer. If the Jazz continue to start Exum then l would rather have a vet in that role. '

I don't have an opinion on Bryce Cotton, since I haven't been watching lately.

However, I strongly believe that the mentality that Trey Burke tends to play with is not good for winning basketball games. Sometimes, yes, simply out-shooting the other guy does work, but in the long-run, defense and unselfish play win ball games. I don't think he's self-aware enough to recognize this and I don't think he's going to change a whole lot in the future. Or by the time he does, it will be 5 years from now and we'll be a completely different team.

So I tried to put that very nicely, but to be blunt, I do not like watching Trey Burke play and I want him gone. Therefore, I'm voting Bryce Cotton just because he's not Trey Burke.

Well put, my opinion is the same. Right now I'm hoping they trade Burke, somehow grab a medium quality legit starting PG in free agency or trade, demote Exum to backup, and use Cotton as the #3.
