If it's Hood that likely doesn't work... if it's Ingles you've just potentially taken him away from guarding the best perimeter player which is one of his best attributes.

And as you said, you want to experiment. Then you experiment, not play everything by the book. You got to test stuff out.

I decided to google "NBA players prime year of age.
Seems to be 27 years old for the most part. Some saying 25, 26, or 28 as well but most saying 27.

We have to play Burks, or he never gets to increase his value. You said you would not dump him for nothing.

Situations to watch -

Detroit has to clear salary to match a max for KCP. He may not get the max, but they need to clear a few million... not sure if Johnson is enough.

Toronto... how much would they give to clear Carroll? That's a tough contract.

What about Cleveland... would they do Frye and Osman to lower the luxury tax hit?

If we moved Favors for a little less salary there may be some stuff on sale towards the end of free agency.

OKC is also in a pickle with Roberson... I think we might be the worst offensive team ever if we got him, but there is some value I guess.
 
Build around Gobert, Rubio, Mitchell and Ingles. They all have ability and a desire to be here. Bradley, Hood, and Exum will probably be important parts of our future as well.
 
It's just about being opportunistic now. I don't want a 30 something on a long deal. Take a flier on a guy in a bad situation... find a make good contract with a guy like Evans.
 
I wonder if we could snake Dudley out of Phoenix. Playing dudley at small ball 4 could be fun, but I wonder if we have enough shot creation.
 
Nikola Mirotic? Pretty sure he had on season where he was close to 40% from three. And he's foreign. And it doesn't seem like there is a big market for him so far...
