Conspiracy Theory Corner

The Cavs are $17M from the tax, they are fine....but they aren't going to want Clarkson.
Since Don is the GM anything can happen.

(Don having pull with the roster was publicly confirmed in something Altman put out. It’s part of the whole plan to keep Don.)

The tanking difference could go either way. I don't feel strongly enough that Ingram is better or worse for tanking for that to be the deciding factor. TBH, I think that Walker alone could provide more 82 game value than Ingram just because of the type of player he is, his health, and how he can elevate your defense.

IMO, it's about how comfortable you feel about giving Ingram a ton of money. I'd agree with you that I do not like adding a bunch of role players for a playoff chase. That goes back to previous seasons where we win a bunch of games with role players who also have no future at the team.
I definitely don't want to pay a 1 time fringe all star 50 million. Especially if we doing that with Lauri as well.

Having 2 dudes like that making that kind of money doesn't seem like a good idea to me.

Now I'm a homer and think that Lauri played like an all star last year and will continue to do so and am ok giving him the bag.

I believe less in Ingram being a yearly all star going forward than Lauri though.

That would leave 11.5M for Okoro’s first year of his contract.
Okoro has already left that on the table. That’s literally his qualifying offer. He’s holding out for substantially more than that. I suspect $14 million on the lowest end of what he would take and Cleveland has probably already offered that.

I think Kessler has to be in the deal for NO. Collins and Kessler for Ingram we roll with Eubanks at center and Flip. I am definitely a no on Ingram but it’s not a hell no. I need to see the whole picture first.
Stealth tank.

You do it before August 6th and maybe GSW panic-increases their offer.

QO are one year deals. If he gets a 4-year deal for let’s say 52M where he starts at 11.5M with 8% increases every year that’s a big difference.

They have Donny, Garland, Porter Jr. as guard creators and Caris Levert as the sixth man. I just don't even think Donny would want to swap Okoro for JC.

I’m just saying he’s not taking a QO amount unless he’s getting UFA out of it. There’s basically no way Cavs haven’t anlready offered more than that.

So it's 100% tank season? Only question left this off season is if a team is going to over pay for Lauri?
They're not.
This off season is already basically over for the jazz
