DERRICK WILLIAMS HAD A BROKEN FINGER IN HIS SHOOTING HAND half way through last season and he already played pretty well with it IMO. Also says something about how bad this guy wants to be on the floor and playing!

FWIW, Kanter beat Nowitski's Nike Hoops Summit record despite playing with injured back.

For me it depends on if Williams can play the 3 and play it well enough to be a starter. Kanter is the better player right now and has the size and skill that are hard to find in any draft. I well be very happy with ether right now.

Yeah, I'm a little nervous Williams can't be a 3, but rather a tweener 4. Kanter looks great - the "tougher Boozer" description seems accurate. Also taller. I guess we'll see who falls to #3.

As far as the need at small forward I'm thinking it'll be better filled in 2012 rather than grabbing someone from this year's crop.

Have people seen Knight's assists' stats? Far from impressive. I'd even go so far as saying mediocre. Every major stud point guard in the league had better to far better assist numbers as a freshman. Dude according to Jay Bilas may not be a true point guard and his dime numbers support that notion. I want nothing to do with that at 3.

you guys will see, what a player kanter will be. every gm will be so disappointed by not picking him. if he played this year, he could have easily dominated and averaged 20-10. expect him to become an all-star within 2-3 years, if an eastern team picks him, it could be even a litte earlier.

my dream draft is kanter and knight. we have to trade the 12th pick plus a player to get the 4th pick from the cavaliers plus a filler.

Yeah, I'm pretty much liking Kanter as much as anyone in this draft. But I do not understand the Knight infatuation. He'll be fine, but it's the 3rd pick - that would be such a waste.

do we have a chance to trade for the first pick? a core of kanter, favors and irving would be incredible. millsap coming of the bench and resign ak. if we could use jefferson and harris to get this pick plus a sg that can shoot and defend well. imagine this:

c - favors - millsap
pf - kanter - millsap
sf - kirilenko - cj - hayward
sg - ??? - hayward - fredette or alec burks
pg - irving

Riiiiiiiight
35 wins team. Wow @Millsap at C

no, millsap would not play center, he would play alongside favors or kanter, that's what i wanted to say. they would miss the playoffs maybe, but believe me, they would be great within 2 years. add two veteran players for the minimum and you have a great team for the future. you need patience. damn, cleveland will become a hell of a team within a few years if they pick irving and kanter plus an other top 5 player in next year's draft and the big contracts (davis, jamison) will soon be over. scary!

I'm a college bb fan first and watch these kids (from the recruiting standpoint) from the time they're sophomores in high school. Warning, however, is I am HUGE UK fan .. so having said that ...

Williams - Tweener, for sure. Very little chance he can play stud-level NBA ball at the SF position.

Kanter - Yes, there are questions about his knees. However, I watched (live) MANY practices early last year and he had no problem whatsoever .. HE WILL be dominant.

Knight - There are legitimate questions regarding whether he is a true PG. However, he's a freshman and played on a high school team that he was the ONLY scoring option (and he averaged 36 per game). As last season progressed, he started looking like an elite PG. He also hit TWO game-winning shots in the NCAA tourney. Helluva shooter, scorer, and a very cerebral guy. He'll be a winner.

Having said all that, I think Knight at #3 is too early .. not terrible, but too early. Kanter is a steal at any number, period. I see Irving as the CLEAR absolute #1 in this draft, maybe not even close .. and I HATE duke.

Kanter will not be buried in the line up, by the way, he's 'that' good.

*Kanter*

You let Enes play in last NCAA season, and Kentucky is automatically the champion, that's all I'm saying. Had Enes not left FBUlker and thus been selected to the National team for 2010 WC, his draft stock would automatically be higher at this point. None of those situations, assumptions are a result of his lack of talent, so-called "bad knees", and nobody can guarantee that the guy will have a great, dominant career but he is easily the best available player in this weak draft.

Knight at 3 is a good pick to me. The guy is still 18 year olds, and won't turn 19 until this December. He can play along side Harris since he is 6'4 and can shoot the rock as good, if not better, than any of our wing players. He has the willingness to take and make the big time shot, which is more than I can say for anyone on roster (maybe Hayward, but I don't recall him taking any last year).

I am just NOT sold on Kanter. Sure he has dominated highschool players and guys his age but shouldn't most every NBA player? Knee concerns for a big guy throw up a bit of a red flag too. Seems like he is all hype. Maybe he will be a stud who knows. I would just do what it took to get Derrick Williams. Guy is a stud. Worst case scenario you end up with a 15 pg scorer at SF for the next 5-10 years.
