One of the things that happens at draft time is too often scouts tell you everything they don't like about players instead of what guys they think will do well (C.Y.A.). I disagree 100% with sepanol, but it does take some guts to find a player in this draft and say you really believe he will become a superstar.

lets say, lebron was like a prospect for a certain superstar and he eventually became that. I dont see this players at his level.
But deron and paul were also highly regarded prospects and they even became more than that.
I see irving and enes like them .But we will see if eventually they will disappoint me or not.

but actually im surprised he played nike summit with 4 painkillers. if its true, i think its an answer to health issue problems, he doesnt avoid competition. But my concern is he is so young, and a little bit spoiled, because its not easy to go from turkey to the greatest basketball country in the world and be so highly regarded. Memo and Hedo was rather modest players, but Kanter is a little more spoiled. U cant find such players in Turkey. I hope its because he really is good as much as i defended, otherwise i would be disappointed

The one highlight real spot of Kanter shown @ the combine is changing me a little. I'll watch the rest and hope he shows up. The one thing I have liked about him is his superior strength and willingness to push players a bit to create space. It's many times harder to do this in the NBA as opposed to the competition he's used to, but the Istan Bull is a strong dude. I don't care if he's 6'10" or 7' either. I think too much emphasis is placed on bigs size. Too many greats were "undersized" by today's standards for that to matter to me. I'm watching for everything except height at this point.

but i read kanter stood up in interview with utah today. Im not sure what does it exactly mean but it doesnt sound nice. I hope he wont be spoiled like Rubio. These high quality level intls are even more egoistic than high level americans, thats bad.
and im not sure if he is undersized, he is 6 11 i think, or smthng betwen 10-11. And he didnt finish his growth yet. I dont really have many questions about his ability, including defense, health athletism or else. He may not be best in these terms, but he will have no weak side. My only concern is how he will behave. We may see him doing moves like lebron , melo or dwill, if he goes to a smaller market and makes a mess to go to a bigger city. As i told he is just a kid and obviously not well managed by his agent.
You could look at it that way, or you could say "Holy ****! How high can this dude jump if he gets ripped?"
That means he has bad weight to lose still. I'm not concerned. His measurements actually excited me. Seeing his standing reach be above 9' is great.

I think something similar must have happened with Griffin. When Griffin came into the league he wasn't known for his dunking like he is now. He must have really hit the weight room and lost unnecessary body fat, resulting in improved lift.

Yeah when you are a complete scrub like those players a vertical doesn't mean much. When you are a player like Williams though, its a tool you use to your advantage. Ask Lebron, Griffin, Westbrook and countless other NBA stars who use it to their advantage.
To be fair, some people hold onto fat more than others. I can hardly put it on, but Deron's problem wasn't his fitness. Derrick might be in a similar situation.
