They won't. Not enough to be gained by pandering on marijuana.

It's also just considered a state issue.

Technically, all states could legalize Mary Jane.

I'd think a republican like you would appreciate democrats not taking a stand on cannabis. Federal overreach anyone?

No it's not. It's federally illegal. It's a schedule 1 narcotic. If Obama wanted to he could instruct his cabinet to enforce the law and arrest every marijuana distributor in states where it is "legal" and throw them in federal prison for life.

Also Eric Holder raided the **** out of medical marijuana dispensaries during Obama's first term. He raided more dispensaries during Obama's first term than the Bush administration raided during his full 8 years.

Yep, no matter how you feel about this issue, using federal laws to strong arm/trump states rights - really one of the unspoken disgraces of this administration

Even though I don't plan to vote for Hillary, I did get a tear in my eye when she accepted the nomination. Historic moment I never thought I'd see. It wasn't hardly even thought of when I was a child. Girls didn't answer the question of what they wanted to be when they grew up with "President of the USA." It seemed too ridiculous to contemplate. I was proud last night. "We've come a long way, baby."

Let's say Hillary is elected.... do we call her Mrs. President?

I love that we are getting the chance to contemplate such things. I'd go with "Ms. President."

Good call..

When we had a female Prime Minister in Thailand 4-5 years ago (Mrs. Yingluck), she changed her name such that people were forced to call her "Miss Yingluck" instead of "Mrs. Yingluck" even though she was already married... all to avoid the stigma that came with the "Mrs." prefix.

Luckily in English we have the option of Ms.

It's not a matter of luck. The option of Ms. was invented just a few decades ago. You could invent a similar word in Thailand.

I get called "Mrs." all the time. Since I've never been married, I always have to decide whether to correct them or feel like I'm misleading them. So I'm a big fan of "Ms." Makes my life simpler. "Miss" makes me feel 10 years old.

Well we didn't invent the Ms. ... but that same female Prime Minister did make it legal for anyone to use the prefix "Miss." even though you are married.

Her argument was men don't have to have the distinction, so why should women have to. (to which I agree)

When I was in highschool here in NZ, there was a Ms. Ferguson who looked like she was in her 30s ... she was the only "Ms." at our school at the time, and it made us all wonder about all sorts of things ... is she married? is she divorced? is she single, but don't want to get married?

Then she got married to another teacher at the same school.. (a really nice guy, chemistry teacher, Mr. McKinnon), but Ms. Ferguson kept her surname, and the mystery still remained to this day.
