What's new

Don't stone me...

I'm not "down" on this team. I have prefaced everything with "I hope I'm wrong". Im not asking them to lose out to get a couple lottery balls. All I'm saying is that if we are serious about winning championships, which in my opinion is why you play, you have to be able to evaluate and make the proper moves. And I know DL is doing what he thinks is best and I respect the process. But when the process is perfection or luck and for 6 years you haven't been perfect or lucky, you have to try something else. I'm not calling for anyone's head or saying our players suck. I'm just trying to stay realistic and find creative ways to make the team better from my living room :)

Lol. You're not down on this team, yet you hope you're wrong... Ok, makes a hell of a lot of sense.

Sadly, a superstar isn't going to want to remain in Utah. So giving up all those assets to rent a player for a couple of years?
Seriously get the **** out of here with that ****. If that's the case, what's the point of giving a ****? Superstars are the meat of every champion this side of the Pistons, and that team had a glut of stars, themselves.

If the team and money is good enough, most players stay.

I could make a list of at least a dozen players (not including Lebron, Durant, Steph & Kawhi) I would trade Hayward and our 1st for.

The proposal was hayward, gobert and our first. That's a HUGE haul. I can't think of three players outside if those named that I would trade that for, let alone 12.

**** this thread. We are getting KD w out trading any. Then we are using draft picks and trade bait to build a championship. I heard from a beat writer yesterday that Curry is paranoid he will not beat Jordan's record if this happens.

it makes sense in my head. I don't see what the Jazz front office is doing right now ending in a championship, but man I hope I'm wrong.

In the case that I'm not wrong, I was just giving my thoughts on making the team better.

Nothing is clear yet. He hasn't played enough for it to be "clear". All I'm saying is that the odds of Exum becoming an all star are low...

Again, I hope I'm wrong.

The Jazz know what Exum is and should be defensively. They've seen his length, quick reactions and instincts defensively. He gives us a lot of length and quickness on the perimeter that we just don't have otherwise. That's part of why he's slated to be the starter. His offense and body are a work in progress. The combination of Exum on the perimeter and Gobert in the paint give the Jazz a defensive identity and make them a top-3 defensive team. Now they just need to add a consistent 25-point scorer.

I would trade Hayward, Burke, Burks and our 1st for Harden. Keep Gobert...will need him to make up for Harden's defensive liabilities.

I'd rather send Favors out of the two. Favors just isn't quite as special. But it's hard, because Favors is a really good piece. And how they work together (defensively) is so key to the other's ability to protect the rim. But I don't know. Harden's one of those God-mode shooter/ballhandlers.

John Wall: 16.4pts, 4rbs, 8ast, 40%FG, 1.9 stl in rookie year
Dante Exum: 4.8pts, 1rbs, 2ast, 35%FG, 0.5 stl in rookie year

He has to get 4x better in 3 categories...(stats wise...which I know is not the whole story)

STILL..that's a huge jump.

AGAIN I HOPE IM WRONG

You gotta do per 36 since the minutes are way different.
It will still be ugly though

I would take the brow.

That's the thing..you gotta get that superstar to sign(which is hard to do, I get that).

But I guess what I'm saying is, Exum isn't and will never be a star(imo) and so do the Jazz have to take a risk to become relevant and hopefully create a top 3 team in the west that is vying for a spot in the finals that might become enticing for that superstar to resign or to bring people in.

How are you so sure about this? I haven't seen enough of him at least.

Exum/Mack
Burks/2nd round pick in '16 draft
Hood/Ingles
Favors/Lyles
The Brow/Withey

I could live with this.

Ya that looks pretty good.
Even the brow at the 4 and Gobert at the 5!

Probably need a little more spacing but the defense would be really good.
