Enes Kanter on Jazz's Draft Board

Where do you guys think Enes Kanter should be on Jazz's Draft Board?

I'm probably in the minority here, but I don't know what all the hype is about. He looks really slow and doesn't seem very athletic. He's has a nice shooting stroke though. Mehmet Okur part II?

I give people flack for comparing prospects to greats, but Zach Randolph isn't and never was athletic or quick either. Or Boozer. To play in the post and score as a big, being fluid and skilled is far more important than being able to leap over people. Defensively, that quickness and explosiveness is a lot more important, but effort and knowledge of fundamentals goes a long way also.

For me, there are huge questions about Kanter, but I think he can be a nice scorer.

He also mentioned he wants to play pf, not going to happen on the Jazz.

That doesn't really bother me. When a player says he wants to play PF, I take that to mean he wants to play offensively like a PF. Like he envisions himself as a guy who can face up and hit the mid range as well as post up.

Back problems at age 18?
Definitely at least a little disconcerting. However, you can look at that as back problems down the road, or you can look at that as impressive that he played and was able to absolutely dominate at it.

But like I've said, people get banged up. The question about knees and backs are a serious one, but if there's any serious damage I think we'll find out soon.

Not as high on Kanter as most - I think he has a high-basement but a low-ceiling. Below-average athleticism for a 4 and below-average size for a 5. Does alot of things well but not sure he's what the Jazz need. Hope I'm wrong, but I think he'll measure closer to 6-9 than 6-11.

his athleticizm is quite underrated. according to me, he has average athleticizm for a four and an above average athleticizm for a five. he might be 6-9.5 - 6-10 without shoes, but with shoes he should be in the 6-11 to 6-11.5 range. His wingspan should be between the 7-1 and 7-2 range, quite solid numbers, we will see. at least he participates, showing that he has nothing to hide.

the other video of slam was a slow-motion, making enes look less explossive and quick as he really is. even the ball takes so much time to go to the basket when he shoots, it looks ugly. he's really much more athletic, explosive and quick, as you can see it in the video with chad ford, where he is interviewing him. that's not a slow-motion like the other video.

Have you stood next to him lately? How in the hell do you know how tall he is?

If Kanter had played for Kentucky this year he would have been a certain lock for the #1 overall pick.
How much better should he be?
If Jazz do somehow manage to get him at #6 or #7 Jazz would have Favors,
last years #1 pick on Jazz board and Kanter, this years #1 pick if he played for Kentucky.
How good would that be?

Draft analysis from my 8-year-old daughter:

"Wow, he just hit like twenty in a row."
I explained that they were only showing the ones he made.
"He's still really good. I can barely get it in the basket. Unless you pick me up and let me drop it in."

Would you consider trading her for Raja if we threw in a pick?

Those are some bold assumptions.

I watched Kanter in that Lebron James game. It wasn't much to go on, but I was impressed. His stroke from outside is just nasty good and I don't really have concerns about his athelticism. Sure, there'll be some nights when he's up against a bigger/faster player like Dwight Howard but I'd be willing to bet that on most nights, Kanter is more athletic than the big he's matched-up against. Granted, this is based off of seeing one game and some youtube footage.

If Utah lands in the top 3 of the lotto, Kanter should get a long look. If that were to happen, I also have a question for Jazz fans: Let's say Utah took Kanter with the 3rd pick. Would you then be willing to deal Milsap and the #12 in an effort to move up to 5 or 6 and take Brandon Knight as well? I love Sap and have gone on record saying not to trade him, but I think it would be too good to pass up. A core of Knight, Kanter, Hayward, Favors and Jefferson would just be F'ing sick!

I put him 4th behind Knight unless the Jazz FO are confident that he can score in the post against NBA bigs. He's impressive against smaller players and in an empty gym, but I'd want to know he can score in the lane and on the block at least as well as, say, Montiejunas if I'm picking him top-3. What's he going to look like playing against Andrew Bynum and Joakim Noah?

I'd rather have Biyombo. Kanter's jumpers in an empty gym suuure look sweet, but I've already seen enough of Biyombo trying to kill folks to fall in love.
