Enes Kanter on Jazz's Draft Board

Where do you guys think Enes Kanter should be on Jazz's Draft Board?

I would lean toward Kanter. He's only 19. He's got a pretty good offensive game.
You need scoring at every position.
He is similar to Kevin Love. Nobody thought Love could play in NBA.
His upside seems better than Love's.
He's from Turkey. Turkey has been turning out some very good NBA talent lately.
Having Okur to mentor him can't be bad.

He looks incredibly slow on this video. I mean real slow with his feet.

Well considering he's projected to play C I don't know about this assessment. I think he would be at least on par with most C's playing in the NBA (except may be Dwight and Amar'e) - give him a year or two.

And don't forget - that's not a real game. There's no urgency - it looks like he's just practising his moves & his shots. I wouldn't read too much into his speed. I'd take more note of his shooting form and his athletic ability (dunking from just below the FT line).

I'm probably in the minority here, but I don't know what all the hype is about. He looks really slow and doesn't seem very athletic. He's has a nice shooting stroke though. Mehmet Okur part II?

These are drills in which all off the players are moving at abut 60% speed.

Kanter has always (including this video) given off a crazy Kosta Koufos vibe to me. Kosta was bigger and more athletic than him too. No thanks for me.

With all due respect, you're crazy.
With all due respect, in this argument, I'm not crazy, you're just ignorant.
You do understand there's a difference between the projections of a player entering the NBA compared with how their career ultimately ended up? If you only watched Koufos during his time in the NBA - I can understand why you jumped to the conclusion you did.
Go back and find scouting reports on Koufos at OSU and I guarantee virtually every one will mention Koufos' face-up game and his shooting ability from the perimeter. At OSU, he displayed an accurate jumpshot out to 21-feet.

I'm not ignorant whatsoever. I'm fully aware of how highly Koufos was touted and his own accomplishments at such a young age. I know that KK2 was even projected as going number one overall in the draft, I believe when he first entered OSU. A lot of that was based on having some post-up game, being 7 foot, having a solid frame, and having, like you said, a stroke. His U-18 Greek performance was awesome as well. But from what I saw of him at OSU and on the Jazz, I was not impressed. He always seemed to think too much out on the court and his post-game while worth mentioning was far from impressive. Watching Kanter, and yes I realize it's just highlights, I see a guy who looks far more natural and smoother than not only Koufos but also Memo in his shooting stroke. I see a guy who has some moves that are sick (his penetration, spin-move most of all), ones that Koufos couldn't even touch in my not so humble opinion.

you have seen highlights from one game......

memo wasnt even as half quality when he came to nba as enes was at his 16, memo is soft but kanter can guard anybody in nba with his current physique, and i see he improved his body a lot, he was much weaker in turkey, he may be underrated in this draft cauz he didnt play in kentucky whole year, and this may be our luck to move up by a trade if we cant win lottery. And lets not forget, he played in euroleague when he was 16, its the maximum level of competition in Europe, so its already a big achievement for a 16 yrs kid.

koufos was very talented but he still couldnt learn the post games even in his 2nd yr in nba. And he wasnt as halfway fluid or skilled as enes, as numberica said. Enes has a very high level scoring instinct and his shooting is much more consistent. I think it is ignorant to compare those two guys just because they physically look similar

I watched Kanter in that Lebron James game. It wasn't much to go on, but I was impressed. His stroke from outside is just nasty good and I don't really have concerns about his athelticism. Sure, there'll be some nights when he's up against a bigger/faster player like Dwight Howard but I'd be willing to bet that on most nights, Kanter is more athletic than the big he's matched-up against. Granted, this is based off of seeing one game and some youtube footage.

If Utah lands in the top 3 of the lotto, Kanter should get a long look. If that were to happen, I also have a question for Jazz fans: Let's say Utah took Kanter with the 3rd pick. Would you then be willing to deal Milsap and the #12 in an effort to move up to 5 or 6 and take Brandon Knight as well? I love Sap and have gone on record saying not to trade him, but I think it would be too good to pass up. A core of Knight, Kanter, Hayward, Favors and Jefferson would just be F'ing sick!

i would definitely look for a trade to pick brandon knight as well. Adding enes along with knight this year will make us a certain contender in 2 yrs. But i would prefer using another guy like harris or jefferson. Millsap can come off the bench, but jefferson will make problem (considering Kanter &Favors should be in starting line up) Plus, kanter would be much more suitable guy to Favors to open up space with his shooting. Jeffersons shooting consistency is really bad

Kanter worked out for KOC a while back if anybody remembers that. I think he will end up being a top 3 pick and I would say it is possible he is 2 or even 1 on the Jazz board. He has a very nice shooting stroke for his size, and I'm talking purely about how his shot looks, not that he made all of them in the highlight reel. He did tear up Sullinger in that Nike Hoop Summit game and I haven't seem him play but from highlights and reports, shots inside and rebounding seem to be his main focus, and then spreading the floor.

In this draft, he is top 3 talent in my opinion. My questions are durability and defense though.

He had games where he took 25 rebounds when he was playing in U18 european national championships. He had like 16-18 rebounds against guys like Valanciunas and Dejan Musli in those national games. He was very dominant in his age. He is the biggest international prospect along with Rubio. If he stays healthy i think he will be better than Gasol.
