I'm good with this deal. I'm not a huge fan of Evans but for as cheap as this contract is I don't see a problem with it.

Good locker room guy, and really he's being paid to be a practice player who occasionally comes in to rest the starters. I don't mind it, it isn't that much for a player that young with his athleticism.

Jazz already tendered him so other teams were free to sign him to a sheet. I'm fine with the deal because 3 years at such a low cost is a totally reasonable investment. There's no urgency to get him on the court and there is upside. I think he could at least be an Amundson, but he's a better athlete. At worst, he's not bad in a pinch and cheap insurance if we need a backup big because he'll know the system.

Sure. I'd like another journeyman in case the matchups aren't favorable, but, sure.

Well instead of trading Millsap or Jefferson now - why not keep them until at least the trade deadline instead of having to sign another 'journeyman'.

Getting injured is something every team has to worry about. You just have to hope it doesnt happen
I guess keeping Jefferson could provide some injury insurance, but then we miss out on development playing time and cashing out an asset before it expires.
If the injury bug bites and ruins the year, then tuff lucks. Go get a d leaguer.
Id rather cash the asset out.
We could always make the trade and then get a cheap 5th big just in case.
