If what you say is true then just replace him with ellijah millsap.
Millsap probably is happy just to be in the nba so he will do whatever the coaches ask.
Snyder can tell millsap to go out and play great defense (which he does) and on the offensive side just stand on the 3 point line and defer to his teammates.
Problem solved
We all know Burke will be the replacement, and overall it will hurt us on both sides of the floor. Sorry, but I'm not looking forward to another year of Trey running the offense and getting torched defensively. I've seen enough of Trey that I have little confidence he'll overcome his size/speed issues. It seems you and some others have been assuming Dante would be the exact same player as last year, but at least he had the potential for a major breakout, which I don't see with Trey.
If this was the first post I read in this thread, I would've thought that Burke orchestrated a Jeff Gillooly style hit on Exums leg to regain the starting PG role.We all know Burke will be the replacement, and overall it will hurt us on both sides of the floor. Obviously nobody wants to replace Exum with Burke, but I have faith in Burke. Probably second most to Dal.

My big question is if the ankle injury was fully healed before he went to play for Australia and if the weakness in that joint contributed to the knee injury.
Which part of his game gives you faith, the weak defense or the complete lack of awareness when his shot isn't falling?
Ahh the good ole hypocrisy of assuming only Exum can improve has made it's way into the thread. Finally!
Big difference between the two. Exum had elite size and quickness for his position, and therefore doesn't have the same obstacles to overcome. Also, Exum was already solid on one end of the floor in his first year, compared to Trey being weak on both ends through 2 full years. Trey can get better, but the difference in potential is significant, to say the least.
The part that allowed him to lead the team in apg and assist% and post an impressive assist to turnover ratio. The big games he's already posted in two NBA season's. All most all NBA players aren't at their full potential defensively early in their careers. Also being a great athlete isn't a perquisite for being a quality defender.

Has someone said that Exum is a poor defender?Don't bother man, some people just don't want to see it. If they can't even acknowledge the defensive impact Exum had, then it's a lost cause.

Both trey and Exum sucked last year.
I think that if exum is out next year then DL/Snyder will come up with an option that is not trey burke
Trey aint getting any taller and he aint getting any quicker. His only hope is that he gets smarter, that is a big ask given his two full years of work so far. If he's not taking a tonne less shots i won't be watching many games this year. So far the guy has been a defensive sieve and a deluded ball hog.
