What's new

Favors had 23 pts 15 rebounds after 3 and Corbin benched him for the entire 4th quarter.

It's a principle thing, not a "Well the results were okay so the method must have been fine" thing. If you tell your team to shoot a behind the back 3 at the buzzer for the win, that's stupid. If the shot goes in, it's still stupid. I know that's extreme, but what other coach in the NBA doesn't finish with a starter that gets 23 points and 15 rebounds through 3 quarters?

This x 5 million

Great contribution, dimwit. Not that I expect more from the same guy who has no problem with a starting lineup featuring three players that can't even score a single point.

If tonight wasn't worth bitching over, then I don't know what is.

Corbin is the ****ing worst. I have no idea how this man is a coach at the NBA level. Favors getting DNPd thru the 4th and OT is just an absolute disgrace.

Kanter and Sap were dominating the 4th. They got us into the bonus really early and were hitting FT's. Sap was being clutch for the most part (besides the FT line) and Kanter was rebounding and making nice shots too. It would be a tough decision to take either out. And while Favors had a great 1st half, his 3rd quarter wasn't too impressive, if I remember correctly.

That is officially the dumbest thing I've read in a while. They were clutch except at the line. I mean come on man Corbin is a joke

I watched the first quarter, then tuned in again about half way through the fourth and watched to the end. Until coming to jazzfanz I genuinely thought Favors must have fouled out. Not only did he not play, but the announcers did not even talk about him not being in the game. Unbelievable.

Seriously though, we were down 15 with Favors in the game, not his fault, but Kanter and Milsap brought the Jazz back. We can't go big 3 because the Bucks had only 1 big on the court with a stretch 4. If it was a strategy it worked. That being said it was probably not good for Favors psyche. It would suck balls to go 23 and 15 through 3 quarters and not play again. So not a bad basketball decision by Corbin, but probably a bad team chemistry decision.

Kanter had 12 and 7 the last 17 minutes of the game, hit some huge shots, played great D, didn't hurt the Jazz at all. Millsap played really well also, minus missing that damn free throw. It sucks balls when 3 bigs are playing really well and there are only 2 spots. Does anyone here really think the Jazz win if Favors comes in for Sap or Kanter during the 4th or OT?

If I were Favors, after all he has been through and especially last night's game, I would not want to continue my career here after my rookie contract. A decision like that could hamper our team's future success greatly.

Terrific post.... probably the best one about the favors issue (other than the great one by vslice)

i have repped too much in the last 24 hours, otherwise you would definately get some rep.

I dont know if we would have one or not, but i do know that we didn't win with him not playing.

I think favors should have got SOME minutes based off priciple alone..... just put him in for a few minutes to give millsap a little rest and see how things go.
I understand that would be hard to do while the team was coming back, but favors was playing great and i would have expected him to continue playing great.

Yes this deserves its own thread because it's the dumbest thing I've ever seen any coach do in sports history.

Kanter played well last night and he helped to bring us back. I loved Favors game and he played great but Kanter played well too. It makes sense why Corbin stayed with Big Turk... It wasn't even a lack of a defensive anchor that hurt us last night-- it was Monta, Jennings, and J.J. hitting big JUMP shots. I don't think it is right to pissed at Corbin. If anyone on JazzFanz were hired to coach the Jazz, virtually everyone of us would lead the team to a below .500 record.
