It's pretty weak of Gordon whichever way you want to spin it. He made sure to let IT know apparently, but not some of the guys he was close with at Utah. I'm not surprised Jingles is unimpressed.

I agree with this. I'm disappointed, but I'm OK with him leaving. There's even a pretty good chance that after 7 years in Utah I would have made the same decision. The only problem I have is with his process and the way he tormented the fans on the 4th. I think his mind was made up much earlier than he wanted us to believe, and he could have done the Jazz a big favor by announcing immediately. I also suspect the Miami trip was to avoid the appearance of tampering. In any case, he earned the right to do what he wants and I'm ready to move on with guys we got.

That just shows him to be weak and disingenuous. Imagine if a good friend, or at least someone you thought to be, did to you what he did to Jingling. I wonder too how much his agent had to do with the way it was handled. Not that it excuses him but at least would show the pressure he was under. I myself would've told the agent to take a hike because the agent wasn't concerned for Hayward but about getting a bigger check.

Actually, I think his agent was the fall guy in this. Hayward made his decision and it was uncovered before the official posting. So Cowardly Lion made Bartlestein concoct the story that came out. Like others, I'm disappointed he left, but I understand. It was the way he left that was truly classless. The timing could have been better, but he wanted to be wined and dined. He got his ego stroked in front of the Mrs; that was important to him (it's not like he's been the only one to do so).
If life were truly fair, Cleveland would whip Boston in the EC Finals and Utah would somehow find a way to get past GS and play for the title. And the Boston media would emasculate Gordon and Stevens.

If you are right, that reflects even more poorly on Hayward. But I suspect you may be, especially recalling the interview the agent gave on one of the Utah radio shows, forget which one. That's why I already got my ticket for the game on March 28 -- it should prove to be very interesting.
Actually, I think Mitchell will be the one to lock him up.
In Boston, Hayward will get more national TV coverage, he'll have a chance to start at the All Star game, he'll have a coach who has his back, and he'll basically get a bye to the 2nd round of the playoffs. Meanwhile, Boston fans were already embracing him before he even got there. His decision makes a lot of sense, tbh.
The Jazz can come out better than having Gordon Hayward on a max contract, but they have to nail this next draft like they appear to have done with Mitchell, and they have to play their cards right.

plus Boston fans won't necessarily embrace him for long when they realise he has no personality and is invested in pretty much just himself. And if the team struggles, who do you think they're gonna get on pretty quickly given they gutted the teams depth for him ?
