Following potential 2013 draftees

Reminds me of when the Bobcats picked up Felton, and past up on Granger.

Bro... there you go again with your hypothetical "scenario".

First you said - trade all our '13 picks, for next year's '14 pick. Never mentioned any potential trade partners. Never mentioned any potential teams that might be interested.

Now you're saying BPA.

Well who then? Give us a name of someone who would likely be left at #14 and be a better prospect than Schroeder.

I hope you realize you're one of the major reasons this site has gone to ****. Do us all a favor and quit posting.

?? So you agree with Thee Jazz Fanz that "I would find it extremely satisfying if Schroeder went on pick #15 right after our pick" ??

Who would you rather take at #14, may I ask??

I actually quite enjoy reading posts from the kkk. If not always insightful, they are at least ironic and leave me smiling.

Bad example, Curry was projected to play PG in the NBA. Kahn didn't pick him because Curry refused to work out for Minny.

I was just saying that he did t pick bpa. Curry didn't want to play there because he drafted point guards every year he could. It was like some weird point/combo guard fetish he had going on.

That was quite mean and uncalled for...
It was very appropriate and the truth.

That argument wouldn't work, because you and I have very different ideas of what we will get in the draft. Somehow you think we are going to get a future Allstar where I think we will be lucky to get a decent role player. For example you think MCW is going to be a good starter in this league. Your the only one who thinks this. Others are simply intrigued by Schroeder, you on the other hand are measuring him for a HOF bust already. You have ther worldly expectations of some of these pg's.

So in other words no what ever name I give you, you will disagree regardless because we have completely different expectations of this pathetic draft.

People who post the same tired, bland **** all the time ruin the website.

Hottie k isn't one of those people.

He sparks conversation and is entertaining to boot.

Alright. You win. Sorry bro.

And with that, I'm out.

Wow, that actually sounds cool! Team Tripple K!!

Alright all you guys thinking I'm hyping up Schroeder wayyy too much - let's look at another potential PG if our deal for Schroeder falls through: Isiah Canaan

This is what Chad Ford said:

Canaan has NBA strength, speed and quickness, not to mention NBA range on his jump shot. And much like NBA Rookie of the Year Damian Lillard did at Weber State, Canaan has been in a screen-and-roll offense his entire career at Murray State. Canaan has excellent point guard acumen to go along with physical gifts. Coming into the season, he was thought to be at the same level as guys like Michigan's Trey Burke and Lehigh's C.J. McCollum.

So what happened?

Canaan averaged more points (21.8) and assists (4.3) this season than at any time in his career, but his 3-point shooting percentage dropped from 46 percent to 37 percent. If you study film of the Racers and understand that they lost some key players off last season's NCAA team, you'll see that opponents' defenses shrunk the floor on Canaan. They forced him to take on two or three defenders at a time, trapped the ball out of his hands and forced others on his team to beat them.

Canaan is one of those players whose stock will rise again when he works out for teams against players at his position perceived to be better than him. Last summer, he more than held his own against the same players at the Nike LeBron James Skills Academy in Las Vegas. That's not ancient history, and more than a few NBA teams were paying attention then. Similar performances in pre-draft workouts will serve as a nice reminder.

Here's his highlight video:

I mean he looks good. What's not to like?

- Great athleticism with a capital "A" for his size

- Can shoot the 3pt shot, consistently for 4 years in college, always above 37%

- Carried his team on his back multiple, multiple, multiple times

- this boy seems like he's a pure baller and a fighter.

- Reminds me a bit of Nate Robinson with range?

He's currently #31 on the ESPN list, but I think he could really rise come draft time, may be a late 1st could be his ceiling?

I'll tell you this right now, if I'm to pick between Canaan and Wolters - I'm going with Canaan 9 times out of 10.

He's interesting. Ranked in Draft Express as the 49th pick. Great shooter to have coming off the bench. I wouldn't have a problem with him as a second round pick. Some negatives though.
.
From DX:
Doesn't possess an incredible first step and isn't a tremendous athlete in general.
Not incredibly explosive, which presents problems finishing at the rim over length.
Has a shoot first mentality and doesn't have the greatest of court vision or awareness.
Averaged only 4.3 assists per 40 minutes pace adjusted compared to 3.4 turnovers, giving him a -1.43 pure passer rating, one of the worst amongst point guards in our top-100 rankings.
Beyond his lack of size, his lateral quickness appears to be just average.
.
But with Canaan's scoring prowess, perimeter shooting ability, and comfort operating in a pick and roll offense, he is firmly on the NBA draft radar.

I have to disagree... I like Wolters a lot better. I watched the the South Dakota St vs Murray State game in the bracket busters and came away much more impressed with Wolters. He pretty much dominated the game until he got hurt. Murray won the game... but it was mainly due to their depth and Wolters injury. Canaan played alright, but got most of his points late. I've always liked Canaan as a player (ever since I saw him play as freshman in the tourney), but that was actually one of the games that sold me on Wolters.

We all know Wolters can score, and is a bad defender. My question is how well can he run a team, and pass the ball?

Well I don't know how you can say he is a bad defender. I watched him in three games, he did a tremendous job on Burke and in the conference championship game he stayed in front of a quick small guard.

Besides in the NBA few PGs are great defenders. I think Wolters needs to get stronger because in the NBA teams will guard him with bigger players. His size will allow him to post up smaller players. Yes he can run a team and he is a very willing and good passer.

My biggest question mark is will he be able to handle the size and strength of players in the NBA. He isn't supper quick but he has deceptive speed. He is just as fast or even faster than Mark Jackson was.

Wow. We agree on something.

I've been pimping him a little for 2 months now and even said I thought he'd be the steel of the draft, and that's when he was projected as a late first round pick. I always said he had skills that translate over to the nba.

As for DX, he may not be Russell Westbrook in terms of athletic ability, but has plenty of it to be a pg in the nba.
