Following potential 2013 draftees

Larkin reportedly has a promise from the Bucks at #15, and he just declined a workout invitation from the Knicks.

Wow.. this is big. And this early in the process too....

If this is true (evident by the cancelled workout) - then it means that the Bucks are set to take Larkin, implying:

1. The Bucks doesn't think Schroeder will be there when THEY pick at #15

2. The Bucks aren't confident or aren't willing to trade up to get DAL #13 pick to grab Schroeder. This was one of the scenario we talked about here when DAL started offering their pick for a team willing to take Marion's $9mil contract. Bucks were our most likely rival in trading for the pick because they're one of the teams that have cap space & looking for a future PG.

3. Another reason for this could be Jazz have offered DAL our #21 pick in exchanged for their #13 pick and taking up Marion's contract.

I would do that trade in a second and grab Schroeder and may be Adams as our future 3rd big. Why?

1. It guarantees us Schroeder (unless OKC takes him).

2. He's a legit 7 footer who blocks shots and shoot jumpshots (perfect 3rd big, if he develops properly, we can trade him off when he's up for a big contract for a legit talent later on).

3. He won't be there at #21, I'm positive.

4. We won't get a SF this year, but we can re-sign DeMarre Carol & tank HARD to grab Jabari next season.

Not really Jazz related but gives an idea of what teams are offering for a pick close to the Jazz's 21st.

Emiliano Carchia @SportandoBasketKings offer Isaiah Thomas to Cleveland in exchange of the 19th pick sportando.net/eng/usa/nba/56…

Would Jazzfanz trade #21 for Isaiah Thomas? I wouldn't.

I'd do it if Jamaal Franklin wasn't available.

I'm about to meet up with one of the new elite freshman.. prohibited from saying which, unfortunately.

I'm shaking my fist at you in anger. At least give us this, how much taller is the player than you? What about hand size?

Wow.. this is big.

This tells me the Bucks doesn't think Schroeder will be there when THEY pick. Meaning they're so confident that one of OKC, DAL and Jazz will pick up Schroeder that they can give a promise to Larkin (hence the cancelled workout).

Looks like this thing is down to a 3 horse race people...

I'm getting nervous that the Jazz pass on Schroe.

And our horse is Secretariat :)

Interesting fact on Larkin translating to the NBA.

Digging into the numbers for our annual stat articles. Shane Larkin led the NCAA in creating offense on the pick and roll, impressive.

Yeah he said as much in the Combine interview. He LOVES pick & roll.

I do think the Bucks would actually prefer Larkin to Schroeder. After being stuck with Jennings for so many years, they're just so sick of a PG who has an attitude problem and can't shoot the 3pt consistently.

I don't think Schroeder's "issues" are that bad, but I do think they are magnified by Bucks' experience with Jennings. Larkin's leadership, character and 3pt shooting would be a welcomed change there.

giving up #21 for #13 and Marion is to much. jazz can get #13 and Marion for a future protected pick. Dallas wants to dump salary.

if I was the jazz I would do the trade with Dallas and then take Thomas Robinson from Houston then watch Houston and Dallas battle it out for Howard while other free agents sign else where.

I don't think it's too much - if it guarantees us Schroeder at #13 I think that's a great deal. Remember - if we don't take that deal, another team might bite (i.e., Bucks for starter).

Marion is no slouch. He can be our "experienced" 3rd big backing up Favors & Kanter.

anyone else thinking that Charlotte is putting together a pretty decent team?

if the draft oladipo. they will have mkg and oladipo both high motor hard working guys.

kemba walker is a decent pg. biyombo is a good interior defender that could get a lot better.

Jeff Taylor a great role player coming in off the bench. decent shooter that is athletic. also a hard worker.

They'd have a helluva winners mentality/hard working/defensive team... scorers they'll need.

But the question is whether or not he'd wanna play for the Jazz. I think he'd go Raja.

PKM is right, Bazz would be a much better fit for them.
