What's new

Following potential 2013 draftees

There's been drought. Next year will be better.. and early indications are 2015 will be sparse as well. Right now onky Mudiay and Jones look elite. Wings are very sparse in '15 as well.

I so hope that the jazz don't need anything in 2015. unless they need another role player.

Well as long as you aren't expecting to get an elite point guard, I think your chances are good just about anywhere. Thomas, Bledsoe, Vasquez, Lawson, Holiday, Teague, Hill, Chalmers, Dragic. Everyone has a different opinion about a lot of those guys but they were picked all over the place in the last few years and are all very solid. I have come to expect good talent evaluation from this organization recently.

Haven't looked too much into the draft, but the little I looked into McCollum makes me immediately think Randy Foye. Am I wrong in this?

Foye wasn't a strong shooter when he came in the league. He was one of those athletic slashers whom people were trying to compare to DWade. He learned to shoot with his feet set eventually, but Foye isn't the dynamic ball handler, shot creator and shot maker that McCollum is.

I can say as someone who's 5'10 or 5'11 in shoes with a standing reach in the 7'7" range, it takes a ridiculous amount of energy to play competitive basketball. A guy that size has to go flying around the court like an electron to compete with bigger athletic guys. As a defender, you usually back off and try to take smart risks, or get all up in the grill and overplay, but you can never really play lock-down defense. At most you can be an occasional pest.

I think Larkin could make it as a back-up though.

One more thing, it's not good when your point guard pulls up from 28 feet and shoots 3s. It's nice if he can, but to take a shot like that early in the shot clock simply because he can't get by his defender is a bad sign. That applies to Burke too.
